3rd Person's POV

Jisung never wanted to leave Eunhwa all alone in her ward, however he had no choice but to leave her by night. He understood his parents telling him that it was dangerous in there and he could be kidnapped any moment and so that is when Mark will replace him in the ward.

Since the incident, Jisung and the rest of the gang have been waiting patiently for Eunhwa to wake up from her so-called coma and prayed that she would be okay by the seventh day. They all knew that she was a strong one and that she would make it but sometimes, they had doubts.

They didn't know whether she would really come back or not. Even by the sixth day, the doctor had said that there has been no significant improvement from her. She hit her head pretty hard on the rock so it affected her brain and thus sent her into the coma. But it wasn't that simple as they had a deadline, she has a deadline.

Despite all their doubts and all, they still had faith in her. Her condition... isn't as good as you might think. She only has a bandage wrapped around her head to cease the bleeding and cover the stitches on her forehead. But she had multiple tubes connected to her body, mostly on her arms.

She also had a heart monitor connected to her chest. And Jisung might not admit it but he wanted to look at that heart monitor all day until she was awake but he couldn't, his parents didn't let him. That was the main reason on why he and Mark had shifts.

His parents had only let him to be there until 7 p.m. and Mark gets off work at 6 so he would have time to get ready and spend the night there. His mate would be the one getting all his stuff ready and heading there first to drop off the items.

She has always clung onto Mark's side so having a companion wouldn't be a problem for him, but it was for Jisung. No one could accompany him while he worked in the ward. He could kill himself and no one would know until Mark gets there by 7.

But he knew better than to commit suicide just because his mate is in a coma with a deadline but still had hope of being alive and waking up and not because she's dead. What would his father and mother say about this?

But he wouldn't have a reason to not be anxious today, it's the seventh day since her coma and this very day decides whether she goes back to him or to her parents. He was feeling extra nervous and worried, even more since he had just one conference for the afternoon.

The girls are in the ward, replacing Jisung for the moment as he had that meeting to go to. It was the continuation of the previous conference he had left and postponed as Eunhwa was thrown to the river.

He didn't regret postponing it, it was better than to leave her drowning it the river and letting her die. What he regretted was that it had to be today of all days. He had the right to regret it, it's the day his mate comes back to him... that is, if she does.

He was in the palace for the whole afternoon, talking about the public facilities and the kingdom finances as well as some other aspects to be discussed such as the politics and laws and such things. He did that all the while feeling so anxious and worried about his mate but he handled everything well.

As soon as it was done and he had announced it over, he rushed to the hospital, not even bothering to take the car or any type of transportation. He just mindlessly ran to the hospital which was about 3 kilometers away from the palace.

He was breathing heavily but that didn't stop him at all, he just ran to the lift and rushed to her ward. He opened the door and was met by the sight of Hayeon crying, Yerin holding her tears back as Mark comforted his sniffling mate.

The rest just... looked down at the floor, as if the tiles were so interesting that they wouldn't get bored looking at it all day. "What... what happened? Why are you all crying?" Jisung asked as he stepped inside. He just got in there and the first thing he saw was everyone looking depressed, it was only right for him to be confused.

"The doctor said that she only has a 30% chance of living" Jeno said solemnly and that was the only thing Jisung needed to hear before he dropped on his knees on the ground. "Jisung are y-" Chenle was cut off by a loud steady sound... of the heart monitor attached to Eunhwa.

"No... it can't be" Jisung said as he rushed to Eunhwa's side. He clasped her hand in his own, feeling the coldness of it. "No... you can't leave me. Please, not like this" he cried out. Everyone knew how much she meant to him for he has never been one to cry a lot.

Doctors and nurses came to remove all the equipment they connected to her but stopped once they saw the crying prince. "Please, princess. You said that you wouldn't leave me, so please don't, now of all times. I need you, I love you, please come back to me. Don't leave me like this" he said and sobbed once more.

But the sound of a beeping heart monitor shocked everyone in the room. "I've never known that it could be true" Hyoyoo said as tears flowed down her cheeks and she smiled. I looked at Eunhwa, her face still pale as ever but I noticed a tear slipping from her eye. I covered my mouth in shock as I witnessed what happened.

"It's just as the mythology, a man possess the power to recover their mate's condition with one condition, that their love must be strong, infinity" a nurse said.

---

"She's waking up!" Yerin squealed loudly as Eunhwa began to open her eyes. She winced at the bright light but soon recovered. "W-What happened?" she asked as she looked around subtly. Her voice was hoarse as if she hasn't drunk for a whole year which is possibly true.

"You got thrown to the river by a whore, Jisung saved you and your heartbeat stopped for a moment and we thought you died but Jisung saved you again for life this time but other than that, nothing much" Hayeon said getting peachy again. "Where is she now?" Eunhwa asked. She wanted to know where and what happened to the beast who threw her in the river.

"Awaiting trial. They will be sent to the court by the time you're recovered" Jaehyun said. "Who put them there?" she asked again. "My brother did, they deserved it anyways" Jisung said. They told her about what happened through the past week and Yerin had agreed on tutoring her on the test materials.

"How long am I going to be in here?" she suddenly asked. "For about 2 days and then you have to be on a 2-week bed rest" Jisung said. "But my tests are next week" she said. "Oh I can take care of that" Mark said. "And... I forgot my brother is a teacher" she chuckled.

But the rest of the day basically went well, no troubles, no nothing. This night, Jisung's parents finally let him sleep in the ward so he will be sleeping over there and Mark can go back to the apartment. "Jisung?" Eunhwa called out once everyone had left the hospital. "Hmm?" Jisung hummed as a reply.

"Thank you, for saving my life" she said and smiled. He also broke out a smile as he moved closer towards her a placed a peck on her forehead, the part which is now uncovered. "It's my duty to save the damsel in distress who happens to be my mate as well. My love" he said. "If I weren't your mate, would you still have loved me and saved me?" she asked. Jisung just chuckled and caressed her cheek.

"Even if you were a mere stranger off the streets, I would still save you and maybe eventually love you as I did back at school"

You're welcome
