The boom of the sea gates resonates through me and I smile.
"Gotcha"
The people around me turn to me confused, I drop my smile embarrassed.
"Did I just say that out loud?"
The closest guard nods and I bury my head in my hands, how embarrassing.
...
Gathering myself I walk across the sea wall until I reach the gate. The skirt of my dress snaps around my legs in the wind, the spray from the sea water lining everything, turning the grey colour of the dress darker. Looking down I can see the three ships pull in at the white sandy beach. The crew are looking back at the gates that just closed behind them, effectively cutting them off from the rest of the armada.
The middle ship has the flag standard of one of the Princes' of Palmako, exactly what I was hoping for. A man with decorative war medals steps out of the main cabin to see what was the commotion. Looking around in what I assume is disbelief, he spots the gate first before seeing me. I gather the air around me and create an invisible podium of which I step onto before letting it float down to reach his level. The prince bows before me, grinning, showing his pearly white teeth.
"Your majesty, it is to my absolute delight that I get to make your acquaintance"
I roll my eyes and stare the prince down.
"Under the circumstances, I expected you to attack me immediately."
He stares back at me, his blue eyes not breaking from my hold on them.
"Ah, but I have realised the the Kingdom of Palmako has underestimated the queen of Meacambro."
I roll my eyes again and smirk.
"That you have, prince?"
"Marco, Prince Marco, first born son, etcetera(etc.)"
My smirk drops off my face and I turn serious once more.
"Well Prince Marco, why is your armada invading?"
The smirk on his face disappears and the scar that runs from his forehead above his right eye to his chin straightens out.
"Yeah, um, sorry about that, Dad thought you would be an easy target, add to our ever-growing empire, blah blah blah."
I nod along but a movement from the corner of my eye alerts me, I spin around almost loosing my balance and concentration but before I fall the Prince catches me.
"Whoa there."
I pull myself off him and stand up straight, smoothing out my dress. In front of me is the two captains of the two other ships that I had cornered, their swords were raised, preparing to fight. Gathering thoughts of cold ice towards me, I project my thoughts out to Claus, seeking our mind connection.
Claus!
Your majesty?
Kris!
Sorry
Can you come to me please, land on the railing of the boat of something.
Okay, coming in.
DON'T CHANGE!
What?
Don't change, they don't need to know that you're a shape shifter!
Oh, okay!
Breaking away from my mental link I look up just in time to see Claus descend. Using the distraction, I discreetly start applying ice around the captains ankles and anchor them to the boat. I also do the same to Prince Marco, just to make sure. When Claus lands everyone turns back to me but still, they keep a wary eye on the eagle.
Marco tries to move towards Claus but because of the ice anchors around his ankles he can't.
"What the hell!"
He glares at me as I smirk at him, the captains do as well.
"Rule one prince, never take your eyes off the fae."
He continues to glare openly but once again movement catches my eye, Debra Hale is walking up one of the gang planks and onto the deck. The crew and soldiers on the ship move out of the way, making room for her. She curtsies towards the prince before standing by his side, a smirk touches her lips when she makes eye contact with me. I smirk back, clearly she doesn't expect this because her mouth drops into a pouting frown.
"Be careful Debby, if you frown too much the wind will blow and your expression will become permanent."
This time she outright scowls before bringing a hand up to her mouth self conscientiously. I laugh to myself before turning to Prince Marco.
"Worst spy ever"
He looks at me shocked, as do most of the crew members and soldiers.
"What?"
"Claus"
I turn to the Eagle currently resting on the rails that startles at my voice.
"Deliver your message please, call Selia to me as well."
Claus in Eagle form takes of squawking once.
"That was your Eagle?"
Prince Marco stares after Claus in disbelief, a moment later Selia jumps up onto the Boat still in seal form, Claus must have informed her. Her grey body is shiny from sea water, she turns her body around to face us and her cute eyes narrow into slits as she spots Debra. Immediately she sees red and launches at Debra, transforming into her human body, completely forgetting about the no transformation message. Marco tries to shield Debra except he can't move his feet so Selia slams into Debra and the tumble to the deck.
"Selia!"
I call for the young seal and, surprisingly, she listening. She stands up, deliberately kicking Debra in the process, before stomping her way to me. I hand her the cloak that I was wearing and she takes it, smiling gratefully. I turn back to look at Prince Marco.
"Sorry, wasn't expecting that."
Marco scoffs, as does Selia, so I glare at her and she hangs her head. Debra finally manages to sit up, with the assistance of one of the crew members who weren't completely shocked.
"Queen Krissandra, control the shifter"
I glare at Marco and put my hands on my hips.
"You hear me Prince Marco when I say don't touch Selia, if you do I will personally liberate you!"
He stares at me in shock before gaining his composer and glaring back.
"You can't threaten me, if you follow through it will mean war!"
I roll my eyes at his childish remark.
"You already tried to invade my kingdom, I do believe we are already at war your Highness"
I give him a dramatic bow before turning around a creating the invisible platform, of which I step on. I turn back to the crowd gathered below...
"You have one hour to get your ships sailing in the opposite direction Palmako. If by then you are not a speck on the horizon, you won't ever be seeing land again!"
I let my platform drift back up to the sea walls where the watch tower guards are grinning down at me. I hear a splash and smile when I realise it is just Selia jumping into the water.
*Things are just getting started!!!!!! :) ;)*
