Chapter 18

Third person pov

Tae rubs the sleep off his eyes as he sits up in his bed. He opens his eyes slowly to see a small ray of sunlight peeking into his room through the gap in the curtains. Squinting lightly at the brightness he turns around to look at the clock which reads 7.15 am.

As if on cue his phone starts ringing, startling him from his sleepiness. He lazily switches on the call and brings the phone to his ear.

"Hello Jimin"

"Morning Tae. Are you awake yet? Did you sleep well?"

"Good morning. I slept very well. Thank you Jimin. There weren't any problems yesterday, right?"

"No Tae. Jungkook was out like lights and never woke up even when I tucked him in his bed. I left to my home soon after. I think he most probably wouldn't even remember any of the night's events"

"That's good Jimin. I can't thank you enough for the timely help"

"You don't have to thank me at all Tae. Jungkook is my responsibility. Anyways, have you decided what you are gonna do today?"

"I think I have figured it out Jiminie. Before I knew about his actual intentions, I was irritated by him and even sometimes afraid of him. But after knowing his inner conflict, I guess we both are in the same page"

"Tae, I don't think he is gonna change his attitude towards you today, just because he spilled his secrets in his drunken state. If anything, I think it is only going to make him more hostile towards you".

"Iam just going to try working with him Jimin. And along the way if I can help lessen his hurt, then it is an added bonus, isn't it?"

"Tae, though we have known each other for a really short time, you are as important to me as Jungkook. As much as I want him to be relieved of his suffering, I don't want you to be getting hurt in this process either"

"No Jimin. The pain I saw in his eyes was as much as my own. I don't think he will do any harm to me. I just want to help him see the truth Jimin. I want him to accept the reality. I dunno why but I feel like I owe to help him get over this. Afterall my husband was the reason he lost his wife"

"Tae. Don't think like that. You know very well about why the things that happened had happened. You are not indebted to do anything"

"I know Iam not indebted to do anything. But anyways I have to save Minho's company. Along the way if I can help Jungkook atleast a little bit, I would be happy. Besides I don't want to drag him to court again after what I saw him go through yesterday"

"You are a really good person Tae. I will never be able to do this if I were in your position. I want my old Jungkook back too"

"I know there are chances that I might get hurt. But I want to try Jiminie. If it gets too much then I will quit."

"Ok Tae. But promise me you will always tell me when things are tough"

"I promise Jimin. I have a long day ahead of me today. I will go and prepare for it now. Thank you Jiminie"

"All the best Tae. Call me when you are free. Take care"

As Tae cuts the call, his phone starts ringing again immediately. When Tae sees the caller id, he knows he is in for an earful because there is no other reason for Jin to call him this early in the morning. Jin usually calls him only in the evenings.

As expected, as soon as he attends the call, Jin's loud voice reaches his ears.

"TAE, what do you think you are doing?"

"Um, Sitting on the bed?", Tae trying to think of a quick way to get out of whatevee Jin was angry about.

"Don't try to act smart with me young man. You know very well what Iam talking about. Namjoon has told me everything"

Tae facepalms lightly. He thinks that he should have known his brother wouldn't be able to keep any secrets from his husband despite his promise.

Even if Namjoon tried keeping secrets, which he has ever tried only for Tae, it is as if Jin has a in-built lie detector or something. Or it may also be that Namjoon becomes extra clumsy when being secretive which gives him away.

"Hyung, I am getting late to go to the company. Shall I call you afterwards?", Tae tries escaping from the situation.

"Don't you dare cut the call Tae. Iam worried about you and you are making excuses? Why didn't you tell me about what Jungkook did?"

"That is the exact reason why I didn't tell you hyung. I don't want to worry you. I have got this situation under control hyung. Please trust me"

"Tae"

"Hyung, if you don't believe in me, then how will I be able to build my self- confidence?"

That promptly stops Jin from saying whatever he wanted to say. Tae knows exactly how to convince his hyung.

"Ok Tae. I won't stop you anymore. Do what you want. But be careful"

"Thanks hyung"

Hello beautiful people,

Sorry for disappearing for a long time without notice. I had to deal with some personal issues. But now Iam back. This is just a small chapter. But I will start continuing the story soon. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who waited patiently for my updates.

I am not very satisfied with my writing style so far. Should I rewrite the story properly from the beginning and then continue with the remaining or shall I continue with it as it is?
