Chapter 16

Third person pov

"Tae, for the last time, why don't you just sell off that company to Jungkook itself? I don't want you to associate with that company anymore. I didn't like this idea in the first place, but gave in because you were insistent on protecting Minho's company. But now, with Jungkook getting involved, I don't even like the idea of him being anywhere near you", Namjoon states, while rubbing his hands over his face in irritation.

Namjoon was surprised to see Tae at his law firm in the morning. He had expected Tae to be busy at the event management company with all the new plans that he had made for the company. But when Tae explained the situation about having to work with Jungkook, eventhough he had excluded all the details about his hurtful words, Namjoon was concerned. He didn't want Tae to work with him after clearly seeing his attitude at the previous court trial.

"No hyung. There are so many reasons for why I can't leave the company. Please try to understand."

"Why don't you understand Tae? Iam saying this for your own good. Why can't you let the company go? That cheater Minho doesn't even deserve this. Why shoud you get in trouble for him?"

"Hyung, please. This is not about Minho anymore. Iam doing this for myself."

"Yourself? Yourself, Tae? Please make me understand what would you gain from doing this except having to fight daily with that arrogant CEO? Ofcourse you are doing this for Minho, the same person who didn't think twice about backstabbing you", Namjoon says in an exasperated tone.

"No hyung. I can't get out of this now. I have pledged my house as security for the company loans", Tae states in a small voice looking down. He is afraid to look up at his hyung and face the disappointment in his eyes.

"You w-what?", Namjoon stutters unsure if he had heard correctly.

"I pledged my house in the bank hyung", Tae says a little more loudly this time.

Namjoon is unsure of what he should say. He can't believe Tae would take such a big step without even telling him.

Tae feels even more guilty upon seeing Namjoon's betrayed expression. He didn't tell them in the first place because he knew very well that he wouldn't allow him to take that step. But now he feels bad for not even informing them, since his hyungs have always been with him at every step in his life.

"Iam sorry for not telling you earlier hyung. I knew you would have tried to convince me not to do it", he says with an apologetic expression.

"Ofcourse I would have told you not to do it. This is such a stupid decision Tae. Why would you put your house on the line. When I asked about the debts earlier, you told me that you had convinced the lenders somehow. I didn't think you would do this."

"Hyung, what is done, is done. At that time I had no other option. Now please tell me a way to save the company from Jungkook. Please hyung. Pleeeease", Tae uses all his cuteness on Namjoon. Namjoon loses all his anger before his baby brother's cuteness. He has always been weak before his baby brother's doe eyes and innocent expression ever since childhood. Namjoon would even give his life for his little brother.

"Ok. Ok. Now stop using your tricks. Aish. This kid. Gets away with about anything. Now let us consider the problem. I think the only solution is to try and file a case against Jungkook. Since the business partners who signed the deal are no more, we could argue that the deal isn't valid anymore and hence the company doesn't belong to him. This is a longshot. If Jungkook agrees for settlement atleast in the court, then it is possible to gain the company. I will try for your sake Tae."

"Yes! Thank you hyung. I knew that you will not let me down. You are the best hyung ever. We will definitely win this if you appear in the court on my behalf. I love you hyung", Tae runs across and gives a tight hug to Namjoon.
