After we were done cleaning we sat at the table in silence as if we were about to have serious discussion, which we were.
"So.." I began in an attempt to break the silence."So?" She responded.
"I...I don't know where to begin. I know you don't want me, so I'm not going to put myself through the torture." As I talk, I grip my chest. It hurts my heart to speak.
"Why are you giving up so soon."
"Don't even try to pull that card. You having making it pretty obvious, by telling me you don't want me."
"Kyle." She said my name as if it was a curse and her parents were listening.
"Cassidy.." I say her name just like she said mine. And for the first time in a while it doesn't hurt to say her name.
"Don't say my name like it hurts. YOU LOVE ME!" I have never seen her like this before. She stands up her palms pushing against the table and glares at me.
And in the moment my love for her snapped like a twig. "Out." I demanded. She looked at me shocked and hurt at the same time. She didn't move. "OUT!" This time I shouted it!
"You can't tell me to get out!" She screamed out.
I stood up put both of my hands on her back and shoved her out the door. As I did I said "Watch me!" And there I was watching her walk away from me again. But this time it didn't hurt.
