That night as I was driving her home we began to talk.
"Kyle?" She says.
"Yes Ray?"
"How did this happen?"
"What happen?"
"Us."
"I don't know by accident?"
"What a wonderful accident." She sighs as she talks.
"Agreed."
"Do you still love her?"
I look at her, dumbfounded for words. "Rayna. You of all people should know."
"And what if I don't know?"
"You do." I say my heart is beating fast now. We have arrived at her house and are now just sitting in the car, in the driveway.
"I don't Kyle. That's why I'm asking you." I can see the furry begin to rage in her eyes but her voice stays mellow. Much different than Cassidy. "Do you still love Cassidy?"
"I love you." I say.
"That's not what I'm asking. Do you still love her?" Her voice is now elevating but not to a screaming point.
"Yes. She was carrying my child. It's not going to be that easy to stop loving her." As I talk she is gettin out the door and opening the door to her apartment. "RAYNA!" I call after her.
"I already knew the answer she says. Then goes inside and locks the door.
