She was never "just an African child"!
She was much more than that—
A goddess bathed in melanin, crowning black curls!
Gleaming In her attire of purls.

Through her eyes shone magnanimity.
With her body, she spoke creativity—
An heir of bravery from Africa!
For greatness, she was born a Seeker!

Soft, yet fierce.
Calm, yet wild.
—an undeniably beautiful work of art;
Bejeweled with breaths and heartbeats
