"Sam, what's up?" Jacob said as he walked into Sam's house. Sam was sitting at the table, waiting for Jacob, with apparent anger on his face. All Jacob could think of before coming to Sam's house was his conflicting feelings, he wanted to still be with Bella, but he felt a pull to Jasmine that he had never felt before.
"We need to talk," Sam stated. Jacob furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, and then, he got a clarification by what Sam said next,
"About your imprint on my cousin," with that Jacob had gotten his explanation. The reason as to why Sam needed to speak and why he was so serious.
"Along with that, it is also time for you to take your position as Alpha of the pack. The fact that you found your imprint only solidifies what I am saying," Sam said. With that, Jacob sat down, in shock.
Jacob did not think that he would become Alpha any time soon. At first, Jacob wanted his freedom, but now, he wants a life with Jasmine. The only place that Jacob deems safe enough is in La Push, where the rest of the pack was. Ever since a couple of hours ago, he wanted a life with this girl, but his thoughts paused when Sam spoke again,
"I am not happy about the imprint. I mean, this was a girl who was as close as I could get to a little sister, and now, right before she turns eighteen, she gets taken from me," Sam started. He continued,
"She wants to have a life here, and you want to be free. She had never been in love before, and I think that you still love Bella. Do you even want this imprint with her? Do you want to be an Alpha even? Tell me now so that I can protect her in the long run from heartbreak," Sam finished.
Jacob was frozen in shock. He never knew that Sam felt this way about Jacob. Jacob thought that Sam would have more faith in him. Though Jacob saw this as a moment to show how much he cared about Jasmine, even though it only been a couple of hours.
"Sam, I'm gonna clear all of your doubts now. I care more about Jasmine than I have ever cared for Bella; I think my feelings for Bella have just disappeared. About me becoming the Alpha, I need some time. The only reason being that I want to discuss this with Jasmine after I reveal to her who I am," Jacob finished.
Once, Jacob finished speaking. Sam had a smile on his face. Jake didn't know why Sam was smiling, but it made him happy that someone who his imprint cares about likes him.
"I approve," Sam stated.
"Though if you break her heart, make no mistake, I will kill you," Sam finished.
With Sam's approval, this immediately caused Jacob to smile brightly, realizing that he is one step closer to getting the future that he wants with his imprint. With the approval of Sam, Jacob had never felt more confident, and now it was time for Jacob to make his first move, coming one step closer to his dream girl, the woman who gives him solace in his darkest of times.
