Jasmine felt as though she was suffocating with the pack surrounding her, and the whirlwind of emotions that she had gone through today. The pack had no clue as to what she had heard, and they did not know how Jasmine was related to the sudden deaths of the plants surrounding the pack.

"Jasmine, now you need to calm down. I know that this is a lot to take in," Sam started. He held his hands out in front of him and came to Jasmine slowly. As though he was approaching an animal, that was scared of him. Jasmine looked around at the pack, feeling nothing but betrayed by the people she deemed as her friends. For once Jasmine had thought that she could live a happy life here. Though, that all came crumbling down when she came to realize their secret, and how close they were to find out hers.

"Sam, tell me that it's not true. Tell me that you have not been lying to me since the day I got here," Jasmine asked desperately. She was holding onto the last piece of hope that she had not completely lost Sam. That he was still there, Jasmine could only see him as a liar. Sam answered her pleas with his silence, and no one in the pack dared to speak.

"I can't" Sam replied. That caused Jasmine to break down sobbing with her hands over her mouth, trying to muffle her sobs. Though it was a futile attempt.

"How could you? How could you lie to me?!" Jasmine said. Her anger had started to rise, and Jasmine was trying her hardest to control her anger. Jasmine rushed towards Sam, pounding her hands on his chest. Sam just stood there, taking in the hits that Jasmine had to give, knowing that he deserved them.

"It was to protect you," Sam said. It was a useless attempt to get Jasmine to understand his point of view.

Jasmine never though in a million years that Sam would lie to her, they were always open about each other when they were younger, it was only after she left that there was a cold space between them. Jasmine did not know who her cousin was anymore.

"By the way, there is no need to protect me. As you can see," Jasmine said. As she spoke, she gestured to the forest around her,

"I have powers to protect me," jasmine finished. With that, Jasmine was about to leave, when her eyes had met Jacob's.

"I have nothing to say to you, except," Jasmine started while staring into Jacob's eyes.

Jasmine looked at Jacob with nothing but betrayal, and Jacob never believed that his heart could break even more than it was already broken.

"I thought I meant something to you, guess I mean nothing," Jasmine scoffed as she spoke. As though that was the biggest lie that anyone had ever told her.

Jasmine took her eyes off Jacob and she looked at the pack, and they were all there to witness her look of heartbreak.
