I'm Coming Home

You know that moment when you tell someone you love something so heartbreaking, and you see the look on their face as they start to understand what's going on? Well that's what's happening right now. As I tell my best friends that I'm leaving for good, the horrifying noises that leave their bodies fill me with sadness. 

 "You can't leave us Emma" Isabella cries out. 

I hold her tightly in my arms as Mia joins the hug. 

As my best friends cling to my side I think about how my life is changing and what the future holds for me. I am nothing without these people. They make me who I am, what's going to happen when I leave?

My phone goes off as I get a message from my best friend Levi. 

Levi: are u doing anything rn?

Emma: yeah im going to see family friends why?

Levi: can u come to the park?

Emma: i mean idk

Levi: Im kinda throwing you a surprise party so um 

Emma: oh! okay yeah I'll come 

Levi: ok, but no one is here yet so meet me at the park and we'll go to mine

Emma: ok

Levi: everyone will show up after us I think

Emma: ok, give me 5 mins 

I lock my phone and put my shoes on. Levi and I both live close to this park, we always go there together and watch the sunset with our dogs while they play. I'm gonna miss that. 

Levi would always ask me for girl advice. He would tell me everything and I'd try to help him. I actually got him a girlfriend once. Yeah, they dated for a while but I guess they lost feelings after a while. 

"I'm going out mum, I'll be home later."

"Okay, have fun."

I walk to the park. It's only down the street. 

Spotting Levi sitting at a table on his phone, I quickly run up and put my hands over his eyes. 

"Guess who."

He laughs. "This better be Emma or I might just kick your ass."

I laugh along with him and sit down. 

"So when are we going?"

"Let's go now."

"Yay, let's go" I jump up excitedly. 

I'm honestly only excited to see Elton. He's a big husky and he's so playful and fluffy. 

Nah I'm excited about this party too. It's funny how Levi had to tell me about it.

"Oh yeah, act surprised" Levi tells me when we start getting close. I laugh and nod my head. 

As we walk I remember that I leave in a couple days. 

"You know I'm going to miss you right."

He looks at me and smiles. "Me too Em."

 I smile sadly as we continue walking. 

Soon we get to his house and walk through the gate towards the back of the house. His room isn't connected to the house so it's a little separate place. 

He opens the door and we walk inside. No one is there like he mentioned. I sit down on the couch and he walks off to get food. Immediately all my friends jump out and yell "SUPRISE" while I just sit there completely shocked. 

"Oh my w-what."

Levi turns to me and says "I had to get you here somehow." 

I laugh and see everyone smiling. 

"Let's have one last night of fun before you go" he says and gives me his hand. I take it and stand up. 

I start tearing up as I give him a huge hug. Everyone else comes up to me and I give them hugs. 

Some people come up and give me gifts. Rose gave me a pair of earrings, Jade gave me a box of perfume and the best gift from Mia..

Mia hands me a big photo album. "Just some memories for your trip. Remember we'll be here with you every step of the way." 

  I look down at the album as my vision becomes blurry from the tears that start to pour. 

"It's from us all, there's little messages from everyone." Mia tells me as we both sit on the couch. 

I open the book to see little hand written messages with each name signed underneath. I laugh at one of the messages and flip to the photos. 

There are so many, I'm going to miss them so much.

I press play and the old Disney theme songs begin playing. 

Levi and Jayden begin screaming the lyrics. I laugh and grab my phone to record them. Jayden sees this and takes my phone from me. 

"Jayden give it back" I whine. He shakes his head and deletes the video. I pout as he gives the phone back. 

I put my phone down and try to take the video so he won't see me doing it. I start laughing when another theme song plays and both boys sing the exact words. 

I get off the bed and sit next to Mia. "What's going on Mia?"

"This is too funny Em, they know literally every lyric."

I laugh, "Yeah they do and I got a video of it."

"Score." Mia says and turns to look at the boys, or one boy in particular.

"Ooo do you like Levi?"

"What no, of course not. He told me that he likes me but I don't know. We don't talk much and I don't want to rush things." She looks at me. 

I put my hands up. "Okay, I won't say a word."

I see Levi with a scrunchie in his hair. I start laughing and record him. "Hey Levi!"

He looks at me and does the duck face. I laugh and post it on my story. 

"Woah, did anyone notice the time. It's 10 o'clock." Rachel says frantically. Ah yes, the mother of the group. Gotta love mum. 

"Oh yeah, you guys have to go soon. My mum leaves for work and she said that you guys have to be gone by the time she's gone." Levi mentions and turns the tv off. 

I stand up. "Thank you guys for tonight. I'm gonna miss you all so much. But I know we'll meet again one day. I love you all, be safe and look out for each other." I hug everyone individually and run over to Rachel. 

"Need a lift?" she asks. Ah she knows me too well. 

I smile and hop into her car. She drives me home and I thank her. 

"I'm gonna miss you Rach. Keep the family together okay?"

She smiles and nods. 

I hop out and go inside, straight to bed.
