Just like Fury had told me, within the hour, JARVIS informed me of a woman's presence downstairs in the lobby. I kept the news of our new team member to myself and set off in the elevator down to greet her. I had spent the time I had before her arrival, hacking into S.H.I.E.L.D's files to find out as much as I could about our new team member. There wasn't much on Morgan Reid, she had a generic type of file; age, date and place of birth of birth, family, school, qualifications- the usual stuff. But this girl wasn't your average kind of clever. She had three PhD's, three. She had a PhD in nuclear medicine, chemical engineering and in thermonuclear astrophysics and she was only 29. That was impressive even by my standards. I guess that's what happens when you grow up with one parent who just happens to be a major in most scientific aspects.

After reading her file, I'm not sure what I was expecting, maybe a high end, snotty nosed, English brat who probably only passed her PhD's because daddy could make it happen. My expectations might have been slightly off. Maybe a lot. Okay, they were completely off. There she stood, just like JARVIS had told me, twisting the heel of her black trainers into the flooring, looking nervous or bored, maybe both. She wore a pair of nicely fitting, dark jeans and an AC/DC top. Her raven black hair fell in natural waves down her back and she was singing quietly to herself. I already liked her. She was beautiful, something which was fairly uncommon among woman scientists. The ding of the elevator drew attention to me and her head snapped to see who it was. She flashed a smile and gathered up her belongings as I crossed the floor to greet her. I could almost hear Pepper nagging in my ear; "That is a lawsuit waiting to happen, Tony."

"You must be Mr. Stark." She stated with an outstretched hand. I took her had, slightly taken aback by the strength in her grip.

"Yeah, that's me. Morgan right?" She nods. "Right great. Just leave your things, I'll have someone bring them up to your room for you."

"No, no, there really is no need for that. I'll manage." She informed me as she gathered her bags together.

"Oh, well, okay, suit yourself. Follow me then." I headed back in the direction of the elevator and entered the metal contraption with Morgan on my heels. "You will be on the top floor. There is only two bedrooms up there, yours and mine. There was no space on the floors below or that's where you would have been." I mumbled. "The main common room is two floors below along with the main kitchen. The floor below is my lab and workshop."

"Okay, I think I've got it." She said, sounding just a little unsure.

"Well if you need anything, just ask JARVIS." I smiled triumphantly. She looked confused. "JARVIS? Be sure to keep our new guest right, won't you be a dear?" I addressed into open space.

"Very well, sir. Do not hesitate to ask for assistance Miss. Scott." JARVIS' voice rang out through the elevator.

"JARVIS is my AI, he runs the tower." She nods. She turns to face the nearest wall of the elevator and begins to speak to it.

"Thanks JARVIS." She chimes. I couldn't hold in my laughter.

"Why are you talking to my wall?" I cried. "Good God, JARVIS is the house, he runs the house. You just call out to get his attention." She flushes red and drops her gaze.

"My bad," she says with a laugh.

We arrived on the top floor a few moments later. I helped Morgan out of the elevator and along the hall to her room with her bags. We walked in silence along the long corridor until we came to her room. Once we were inside, I put down her bags at the bottom of the bed and turned to face Morgan. Her eyes were darting about the room taking everything in from the colour of the carpet, to the queen sized bed at the far side of the room near the huge glass window.

"I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that you like it?" I teased her drawing her attention back to the here and now. She looked blindly at me for a moment, as if trying to figure out what I just said before she allowed some for of realisation to hit. She looked rather flustered as she tripped over herself trying to form a response, much like a deer caught in front of a car.

"Oh, I, oh yeah, it's great. Thank you." She paused, looking off to the left for only a moment before focusing back on me once again. "I'm a huge fan, Mr. Stark, of all of your work, well, almost all of it." Her brows pulled together as she thought.

I raised an eyebrow at her statement. "Almost all of my work? And call me Tony. Mr. Stark makes me feel like my dad."

"Yes, before your 'epiphany,' I didn't care very much for what you done. I mean of course, I was amazed with your intellectually level but not how you made your fortune; Tony."

"Well, I never made my fortune by listening to the opinions ofthe general public." She was taken aback by my statement.

"General public?" She scoffed. "That will be all, Mr Stark. If you wouldn't mind-" she took a step to the side, gesturing towards the door. I laughed at the gesture, digging my hands into the pockets of my jeans and sauntering towards the door in a very nonchalant manner.

"I'll introduce you to the team at dinner, I'm sure they'll be thrilled to meet you. Until then Doctor." She closed the door as soon as my foot crossed over the threshold. Working with this girl might not be so bad, I thought to myself as I strolled down to the kitchen to make some coffee. If Morgan was as clever as her file made her out to be, she was going to be fun to work with. A challenge. Everybody loves a challenge.
