It was 6am. The forest was quite, appart from the gentle trickle of the waves climbing up the beach. Taylor had been awake for an hour now. She couldn't stop thinking about the person on the other side of the tent's wall. April had infected her brain like some form of tumour. The 'hug' they had shared the day before was incredible. Taylor knew she had feelings emerging for her boss.
But she couldn't. Employees could not date. It would be scandalous. Anyway, she didn't know what April felt and didn't want to assume. Yes they had hugged but people who are just friends do that. But this hug felt special.
She climbed out of her sleeping bag and unzipped the door to her section. She walked over to her bag and grabbed a mug and filled it with coffee before gazing out of the door at the sunrise. It was so beautiful at this time in the morning. The birds were singing and the soft breeze made the trees sway. Sighing calmly, she took a sip of her drink. The weekend had started well.
"Hey." April walked out of her bed and grabbed a bottle of water. Taylor looked her up and down. She was wearing mini black and white shorts and and over sized black t-shirt. She looked so cute with her hair up in a messy bun. April turned to face her and caught her staring. "You don't look too bad yourself." She laughed.
Taylor blushed. Caught in the act. She needed to change the subject.
"So, what activity's does Leslie have planned for today?"
"I think she is planning a game of hide and seek."
"Really? What are we? Twelve?" She laughed raising an eyebrow. April just snigger and bit her lip as she stared out into the forest.
"The view here is so beautiful." April said.
"Yes it is." Taylor agreed but was clearly talking about something else as she stared at april.
They stood for a while. Just thinking. The peace of the wilderness was relaxing. Everyone else was still in their tent. The pair stood side by side admiring the scenery. Enjoying the comfortableness of each other's company.
"WAKE UP! WE HAVE A BUSY DAY AHEAD OF US AND WE HAVE TO GET MOVING!" Leslie screamed, bursting out of her tent. Breaking the peacefulness of the moment.
April sighed. "Guess we better go get ready before Leslie starts attacking us with a stick."
"Yeah." She laughed. "See you in a minute."
"See you Tay."
-
"Today we are going to have a game of hide and seek! We will be in groups of two so it is easier for the seeker. So stick to your pair!" Leslie explained what the day would involve. The group stood by the tents, losing the will to live.
"Does everyone understand?" A small mumble resembling a yes came from them. "Perfect! Now I need you to get into your pairs."
Taylor looked around, searching for a partner. Andy came bounding over.
"Hey Taylor! Want to be my partner?" He grinned. Taylor could see April stood behind them, watching.
"Sorry Andy but I already said that I'd go with April." April smirked in the background after hearing their conversation.
"Oh. That's ok Taylor. Good luck!"
Taylor walked over to April. She was shaking her head. "That was very sneaky Tay." April said turning her back to her to look at Leslie again.
"I couldn't resist." Taylor whispered into her ear. Making her shiver.
They were all paired up. Taylor and April. Donna and Tom. Ron and Andy. Leslie had to settle for Jerry. Poor women.
"The first pair to seek will be Donna and Tom!" She shouted. "Everyone else go and hide!" With that, the group scattered.
April grabbed Taylor's hand. "I know the perfect place." She smiled and pulled Taylor through the forest. They ran quickly. Trying not to trip on any branches on the ground. Still holding hands, April pulled Taylor behind a tree.
Behind the tree, there was a little wooden hut. It was probably used to store logs in for a fire. But today it was empty.
"Get in there!" April demanded.
"Ew! No. It's all muddy and I'm wearing white shoes!" Taylor complained.
"Oh, stop being a baby!" She dragged her into the shelter. They had to kneel on the mud as it wasn't tall enough to stand in.
"Look at my jeans they are all dirty!"
"I assume you own a washing machine so you can wash them when you get home."
"I love these jeans and this stain is not going to come out easily!"
"Stop moaning! They are gonna hear us!"
"No. I will not stop moaning!"
With that, April pulled Taylor closer to her and pressed their lips together. Fireworks went off in Taylor's head as the incredible sensation shot through her body. April held her waist tightly, sucking gently on Taylor's bottom lip. They remained like this for a few seconds before April pulled away. Taylor stared at her stunned.
"That shut you up!" April laughed. Then turned away to check no one was near their hiding place.
It most certainly had shut her up. Taylor remained frozen. April had just kissed her. April had just kissed her! She repeated the words over and over again in her head, trying to comprehend what had just happened. A smile began to creep across her face as what had just happened sunk in. Her sexy boss had just kissed her. Oh no. Her boss had just kissed her. And she liked it.
Taylor shuck her head. Pulling her out of her thoughts. She would deal with what this meant later. For now she and April had a game of hide and seek to win and she was not a good loser.
