"I don't understand why you sent me away. I thought that you cared about me." Natasha was on the phone with her parents after school and was having a rather loud conversation.
"You send me away every chance you get, I don't like it here, the people are jerks" Natasha sighed angrily when her father ended the call because of work.

Why was she even the least bit surprised? They have been sending her away forever. From daycares in the middle of the city to private schools followed by dance classes, then she was sent to boarding school. She honestly thought that was the furthest she'd be sent. Oh, how she was wrong.

She didn't want to bother the Fury's with her problems so she was sitting on the steps that lead to a little cute dinner. She placed her phone in her bag and then put her face into her hands.

"Are you okay dear?" she looked up to see a woman standing by the door, she was smiling very sympathetically at Natasha. Natasha sighed before nodding her head.

"Yeah, I am fine." She said.

"You don't seem fine," The lady laughed, but it wasn't a mocking kinda laugh. "How about you come in? A shake on the house, I know they always happen to cheer my son up."

"Oh um I actually don't have any money," In fact, she was actually supposed to be looking for a job, she didn't want the Fury's paying for everything, and she had no plans of spending her parent's money. She had some of her own, but she hasn't transferred it for American dollars.

"It's on the house," She smiled. "Come on up and up," She said, Natasha couldn't help but smile as she stood up. The woman started to usher her inside. The dinner was nice and it was almost like she had just stepped into the forties.

"It's really nice in here," Natasha smiled sitting down at counter area.

"Why thank you, my son actually helped me design it. He has a little attachment to things like this," She said. "So what can I get you? Strawberry? Chocolate? Vanilla?"

"oh um Vanilla is fine by me," She answered.

"Great, you know you can tell a lot of a person depending on the shake they get." she smiled.

"Oh yeah? What do you think of me?" Natasha asked.

"You have an old soul, an enjoyment for the little things in life. You don't need an extravagant lifestyle to be happy. And in my books that's amazing." She said as she started to make the shake.

The woman was very kind, very caring. She said she was mother, Natasha could only wonder if this is how mothers usually acted toward their kid. Or if this was one big old show. She had a feeling it wasn't, not all mothers were like her own.

"Oh, where are my manners? I am Sarah, Sarah Rogers," She said as she placed the shake on the counter for Natasha. Natasha couldn't help but think of Steve and idiot group of friends. No, it was just a coincidence, Sarah would raise a kid like Steve. She was probably a mother who taught her son love and respect, not whatever shitting game Steve and his friends play.

"Natasha Romanoff," She said before taking a sip of her shake, she smiled, "wow this is amazing,"

"Why thank you, dear!" She said with a slight smile on her face. "I really appreciate that."

"Yeah this is one of the best I have ever had," She said with a smile on her face.

"If you don't mind me asking you," Sarah started. "What had you down? Forgive me if I am overstepping," she said.

"Oh um, you know. School. I am new at my high school and some guys at my school are being completely disgusting." She said. She didn't know why she told Sarah this, maybe it was because Sarah just gave off a loving and caring vibe.
