"You're my one and only love, the meaning of my heart,
Yet you bring me down, and tear me apart."

I walk down the dark empty street. I can hear the trees brushing against the slight breeze. The lights are dull but just enough to see in front of you. My footsteps echo through from my black boots as I strut with my black jeans, white shirt and orange leather jacket. Hands in my pockets, I start whistling a tune.

I arrive at the house that's built of wood, run down yet the only lively one with music echoing through. I knock on the door that has a few scratches on it. I think Ivy tried to draw out a butterfly on it. Evan opens the door abruptly. He is wearing star shaped glasses, black shirt with the words Ejaculate on it, black jeans, a blue jean jacket and blue dyed hair. Nice.

"And who may this random chick be?"

I snort, annoyed and push open the door.

"Fuck off Evan."

I walk through the hallway towards the lounge where Violet, Ivy and Lester are dancing. Violet with black hair was wearing her ripped black jeans, white shirt with the words Fem the future and red leather jacket. She kisses Ivy on the cheek, who was wearing blue ripped jeans, red shirt with the words Edge of Youth on it with a yellow leather jacket. She was wearing purple shades and dyed her hair bright red. Lester who was drinking straight from the bottle was wearing blue jeans, green shirt and a blue denim jacket. His hair was dyed light pink with a hint of blonde.

I strut in, walking with attitude and I blow a bubble as I chew my gum. I grab myself a beer and start dancing with them. Smoke fills the air as Evan rolls a joint. 80's music is blasting from the radio; pillows are being ripped apart and feathers are flying in the air. I pour my beer into Violets mouth and Ivy randomly licks Violet's lips. Lester blacks out in the corner and Evan is playing on the mini golf course. He wacks the ball hitting the window, causing it to have a small hole. We all sing and dance along, fools on crack with no promise of tomorrow.

Just as we are dancing, I see a black figure in the hallway and everything slows down almost to a holt. The smoke is slowly lifting from the joint that's in Evan's mouth, Violets hair is mid air as she shakes her head around, Ivy is slowly falling towards the floor and Lester has an ace card in his mouth. My eyes dart towards the hallway, and the black figure is still lurking. The hoodie is covering their face and body, and they're perfectly standing still. Death, death was nearby. Its feeling itched my senses, my stomach churning. The figure was standing tall in the hallway; I knew what it wanted but I didn't have what it wanted. My friends were completely oblivious to the figure, they didn't notice a thing. It's as if they couldn't see it...

I couldn't be the only one, it was standing there, so obviously. Peering at us, its eyes stinging you. Violet blocked my view for a split second, and the figure was gone. My friends were still dancing around me, but this time it was all normal pace. I look around and finally see my surroundings. The place was a mess. Beer bottles lying on the floor, alcohol spilled everywhere, pillows all ripped apart and feathers were clinging on to things. Books were tossed to the floor, cards lying around along with stuffed toys. It was terrible, yet this is the place I call home. We call home. It's supposed to be safe from the outside world, but it looks like the outside world is creeping its way in. Maybe it was due to Evan creating a hole in the window? Maybe that's how the figure creeped in, there was no other explanation.

I quickly pick up a random cloth on the couch and hang it over the window, covering the hole. I grab duct tape and start sticking the cloth around the broken window. Hoping, praying, that the figure no longer creeps back into our safe house.
