"They said that our souls are connected,
But if that were the case, why was your pain undetected?"They say pain can hurt so badly it'll drive a good person insane. But what is such pain? Can one stand the death of their loved ones? The loneliness that comes with it? I've always believed that there was a meaning behind every pain, every smile, every, every, every, every thing.
At times however, I look back and wonder what this priori could be. If one's heart and mind was so weak, susceptible to destruction and the evil within, should that person not love? Then they would never feel pain, never feel hurt but love is not something that could be controlled. An emotion that has no rules, no boundaries, no understanding and even at times baffles scientists.
So even if you force yourself to be cold, disconnected and unwanted, could you possibly swallow this love and rid the emotion once and for all? But, isn't that painful? Isn't it painful to no longer care about someone or even something? Don't you feel bothered when you force yourself to no longer think properly or feel anything in particular? And if so, isn't that pain?
Love is not the only thing that causes pain, and not loving is also not a way to escape from pain. Pain can be emotional, physical and even spiritual. So how is it possible to rid pain, worry and regret from our lives? Easy answer, you cannot.
Pain is essential in life, it teaches you lessons that not even the greatest philosophers can teach. It readies you for things that you may never have thought of. But most importantly, it gives you something to live for, and that something, is change.
Change brings about a better version of ourselves that we didn't believe was attainable. Simply because we thought it was too difficult or didn't believe we'll reach such heights that we had to change. Some change is good, it allows us to grow and flourish but some are not. Sometimes change causes more pain but not just for you but for those around you. It reminds people that their loses can be from change of behaviour, which in return causes pain.
So no matter which way we turn, we will always be faced with pain. It is intertwined within our souls to feel pain and love. No matter our actions, these two feelings are somehow present. With those we connect with, with those we do not, with the things we eat, and the things we do not, with the jobs we have, with the imagination we create, with the house we decorate, with the films we direct, the books we write, the laws we make, the laws we break and the chaos that lives all around, is and without a doubt, intertwined with two main emotions; love and pain.
We cannot change these no matter how much we try. We can never swallow them up because one will always prevail with or without your control. The human unconsciousness is something we cannot understand completely. Our minds and souls are intertwined with an understanding that we do not know of. And just like pain and love, the mind and soul, the heart and the body are intertwined into one. Can we, as humans, as ordinary people stop the process that makes us human?
Because at the end of it all, what intertwines us, what connects us, is nothing but human.
