HINDI makatingin si Hailee kay Nathan habang sumisimsim ng kape at humihigop ng sabaw mula sa nilagang baboy na niluto nito.
It may be uncomfortable but Hailee is glad that she got to eat some warm meal because she can't endure this headache if not for it.
"I don't cook that much so I hope it tastes good." ani Nathan habang tinitignan si Hailee na parang inoobserbahan nito ang magiging reaksyon ng babae sa niluto niya.
Humigop muli si Hailee ng sabaw bago tumango kaya naman napangiti siya at nagsimula nang kumain.
Unlike most of the stories or films, it is fortunate for Hailee to remember the argument they had last night. Although she is quite surprised that Nathan doesn't bring it up. And she silently thanked him for not saying anything about the mess she was.
"I'm sorry for the trouble," Hailee said looking at Nathan. "And thanks for the food." Nathan just responded with a smile and then he slightly leaned forward to put meat on Hailee's plate.
"No problem, I apologize also for talking that way last night. I didn't think that I might make you uncomfortable." aniya habang ito naman ang naglagay ng karne at sabaw sa sariling mangkok.
Napatango si Hailee at tinignan ang suot na damit bago ibinalik ang tingin kay Nathan.
"By the way, did you change my clothes last night?"she reluctantly asked him.
Nanlaki naman ang mata ni Nathan at mabilis na ibinaba ang kutsara para iwasiwas ang parehas niyang kamay.
"God, no! Of course not! I did removed your shoes but you are so damn comfortable changing clothes in front of me so I went out!"he yelled defensively.
Hailee laughed. She should be the one to be ashamed but seeing his reaction is funny.
Lihim siyang nakahinga nang maluwag at napangisi bago nagpatuloy kumain.
Hindi nagtagal, muli silang binalot ng katahimikan at nanatiling tahimik hanggang sa matapos silang kumain.
Ang katahimikan din na iyon ay hindi nagtagal nang magtalo ang dalawa kung sino ang maghuhugas ng nga pinagkainan na halos tumagal ng sampung minuto.
Pero sa huli, hindi na muling nakipagdiskurso pa si Hailee nang banggitin na ni Nathan ang mga ginawa ng babae nang ito ay malasing.
"Forget what I did last night."nahihiyang pakiusap ni Hailee at tanging ngisi lang ang itinugon ni Nathan.
"I'll see you around, then. Don't drink alcohol when I am not around, okay?"ani Nathan pero sa isip ni Hailee ay hindi siya sigurado kung dapat pa bang madugtungan ang pagkikita nila ni Nathan.
Nang mapansin nitong nakatulala siya, tumikhim ito.
"What I mean is you can trust me enough to bring you home safely when you become so wasted."
Matapos non, nagpaalam na si Nathan kay Hailee na napansing may nais pa itong sabihin pero hindi na nito binanggit.
Hailee appreciate that he took the lengths to make sure she came home safe last night. But despite the myriad of questions she has in her mind, Hailee knows it would be best if she put an end to this eccentric connection that they have.
Nasagot naman na niya ang lahat ng tanong ni Nathan ukol sa pagkamatay ni Arthur.
But why does deep inside, I still want to spend time with him?
With that, Hailee's mind wandered off to somewhere else.
Especially the figure she saw from last night before she passed out.
