Chapter 8 | Executive Assistant

ISANG mahabang katahimikan ang namayani sa loob ng conference room pagkatapos ng sinabi ni William.

Isa-isa ring ni Hailee tiningnan ang mga tao sa loob ng silid at ni isa sa kanila ay walang naglakas-loob na salubungin ang tingin niya.

This is the time when she hopes Charlotte enters the room and tells these dimwits that they are wrong for thinking so little of her.

Just as she was about to debunk the absurdity they are implying, the door of the conference room opened and made an echoing sound. All eyes were on someone who entered the room.

Matapos masara ang pintuan, umugong ang mga mabibigat na yabag patungo kay Hailee at kita niya ang gulat at lito sa mukha ng mga board members.

"The audit's investigation will take at least a month."nanlaki ang mga mata ni Hailee nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses mula sa kanyang likuran.

What the heck is he doing here?

Nilingon niya si Nathan at sumulyap ito sa kanya bago nagtaas-baba ng kilay.

"What—"

Bago pa man siya tuluyang makapagsalita, umiwas ito ng tingin at lumingon sa harap.

"The investigation will take at least a month or so. Also, removing someone from the office, an executive more so, will go through multiple due process."saad nito. "Are you all idiots, or do you think too little of the CEO?"

Nagsimulang magbulungan ang mga board members dahil sa tinuran ni Nathan.

"W-who are you anyway? This is a private discussion among the company's executives and shareholders!"sigaw ng isa at tumayo pa para duruhin si Nathan.

Hailee looked over at him and saw how Nathan smirked sarcastically and glared over the man. He stared at him like he was ready to eat him alive.

For a second there, Hailee was scared of Nathan.

"You are an executive yet you don't know who I am? What are you doing in your office? Play solitaire on your computer?"

Napatayo ang ilang board members kaya walang siyang nagawa kundi hatakin si Nathan pero pumitlag lang ito.

"Hey, what are you doing?"pabulong niyang asik sa lalaki pero hindi ito nagpatinag at nanatiling sa harap pa rin ang tingin.

"If you search your rival company, my name will come out first."walang anumang bahid ng pag-alinlangan na sabi ni Nathan.

Dahil doon, mas lumakas ang bulungan sa loob ng conference room at napasapo na lang si Hailee sa noo.

"Why would the Echelon's CEO meddle with our affairs? Ms. Hailee violate the company's confidentiality—"

"A-shh-shh! I'm going to stop you there, mister"namulsa ni Nathan. "Why don't you ask that gentleman beside you. I'm sure he got the answer to your question."inangat niya ang hintuturo sa isang direksyon para ituro ang isa sa mga board.

Dahil dito, tumingin ang lahat kay Johnson, na siyang COO ng Rielas. Wala itong nagawa kundi mapailing at mapapikit nang mariin.

"1/3 of my shares has been sold to Mr. Nathanael Laxamana."

Sabay-sabay na bumagsak ang mga balikat nila.

"Why would you sell it to him of all people?! That's 4.7% of the Rielas' shares!"naghalo-halo ang pagsigaw ng mga co-executive kay Mr. Johnson at nang sumulyap ako kay Nathan, nakangiti lang ito na parang naaaliw sa nakikita.

"In case you don't know, I will also be handling any of Ms. Hailee's businesses."

"And why is that?"
