Plain and simple: Wattpad Rants
I've been on Wattpad for a while now, and I know there are plenty of these already, but I need to release some hot air.
So, after much pondering and debating, I've decided to add my very own rant book about Wattpad de...
Okay, so I wasn't going to upload another rant so soon after my slut-shaming one just because my last rant kind of took so much energy.
But, as I've been active on Wattpad a bit more than usual (mostly because I have nothing much else to do), I've come to find a few things that people do that annoy me quite a bit.
So, let's break it down and rant about it.
Also, just before we do start, I'm not targeting specific people who do the stuff I'm about to rant about, nor am I trying to make anyone feel bad about doing this. It's just a personal pet peeve of mine and I'm not saying that people should stop doing what they do online just because it annoys me. Think of this as Wattpad's version of being annoyed at someone chewing with their mouth open. It's not a big deal, but it annoys the heck out of me when I see it and I want it to stop. Petty, but that's kind of the point of this chapter heh.
I might have ranted about these people before in my Your Argument is Invalid chapter, but I'll just go ahead and rant about them again just because these are recent pet peeves. Hope it's not too repetitive, and I think I have a few new points even if I've talked about them before, so...

🔵 Authors who beg readers for votes
Now, look, I get it. It's really difficult to get a genuine and loyal readership on Wattpad when you first start out, and it's frustrating to see a book you've worked so hard on rise in numbers of reads but remain at an unfortunate 0 for votes.
Believe me, I've been there. In fact, it annoys me too, sometimes, when my books don't get the same traction as really bad books that are at the top of Wattpad, especially when my grammar is stellar compared to theirs.
But, it just annoys me when authors take it out on the few readers they have in expressing their frustration. I've seen new authors do this, and I've even seen this in very old author's notes on now very popular books. Like, honestly, it's so tacky and such a turn off to see an author's note complaining about readers not voting on their books when they have over 10M+ reads. I know it must have been written when the authors were first starting out, but come on.
