Giovanni Ellis:
"Aye boy!," Jameson screams my way. I look up at my overly loud boss and roll my eyes but continue to do that task in front of me. " I know you hear me talking to you! Put down that damn rake and come here!" I sigh and drop the rake unceremoniously in the middle of the field.
"Yes?" I ask before adding after a brief pause "sir?"
Jameson, the human asshole I work for, glares up at me. I'm at least a foot taller than him with broader shoulder and thicker muscles. Of course being a werewolf does that to you. In any pack though I would without a doubt be considered an omega. Any alpha could no doubt take me down with a stare and as a rogue I tend to stay away from them. To humans I'm strong but to werewolves I'm weak.
Jameson uses his hand to shield his eyes from the sun as he continues to size me up. I glare down at him with the same intensity before sighing. "Sir, did you need something or were you just planning on gazing into my eyes forever?"
"Don't get smart with me, boy!"
"I'd like to get back to work," I snap at him narrowing my eyes to slits.
"I'm moving you to the strip," he demands and I scrunch my nose. The strip was where all the animals on this damn farm lived. I have no clue why they call it a strip when it's really a circle but I do know my time there has been unpleasant. Each time I go it's worse than the last. My wolf unsettles all the animals making it harder to work.
"No," I say simply turning back to the forgotten rake on the ground. But that's all Jameson needed to hear before he started hollering.
"No? No! Do you forget you work for me, boy!" I sigh and turn back slightly to glance at him.
"I'm fine where I am." I pause and so does he.
"Let me dumb this down for ya, boy. You no worky in strip. You no get payed," He says slowly as if talking to a child.
"You'll still have to pay me for the work I did today," I challenge him standing at my full height. I glare down at him and he tries to glare up at me. His gaze falter submitting to me. My wolf hums in content when he does and I nearly roll my eyes.
'Great! We got a human to submit to us.' I sarcastically think but I keep my cool.
"The strip or ya fired, boy," I growl audibly. It's low and guttural and I'm sure Jameson heard it because his eyes widen "W-what?" He stutters.
"Fired?" I question seriously. This'll be my third job within a six month period.
"Satan. I want you gone!" Jameson screams attracting looks from several employees.
"Jameson," I start but he gives me zero time to think.
"I want you gone!" His hollering continues and I put my hands up as he pulls a gun out of his pants. I can smell the gun powder. It's been fired recently and I know he'll have no problem using it on me.
I try once again to work something out but Jameson has none of it. I sigh and decide to just leave what little I have and start my trek in the woods. Time to find a new place I guess.
***********
Hours. I've been running for hours in the same direction. Not like i'm not used to this. I've had to move every year since I was eighteen and at twenty-one, its not much different.
The sky has been dark for hours and if I had to guess, i'd say its near midnight. My wolf begins to get restless as my trek grows longer and longer by the minute. I have not yet found a safe place to sit down and rest much less sleep. Letting my wolf out is also not a choice because then it would be easy for other rogues to find me.
