Dark Miserea's pov
"Game, end. Winner, Kiri Hyoryu!" Ion announced. "The new student has shown his potential, Chu!" Takokichi commented.
I looked down at the defeated fighter, chucking. I haven't had so much fun in ages! My insults had taken effect and the buffoon...Da*Dan, was it? Was cowering in fear and screeched whenever I got close to him.
"I'll defeat you one day!" He yelled as he and his buddy escaped into the sky. I just looked at him disappearing into a tiny blip of pink and started laughing cruel heartedly. He didn't stand a chance! Hi-LAR-ious!
"That was amazing, Kiri! Although you just got your buddy, you seemed to know all of the abilities so well!" Yuga complimented. "Yeah! Did you see how World End make him drop to one life?" Ranma added. Humph, piece of cake. Now I get to focus on my goal...
I faced Miserea and he congratulated me too. "I'm proud to be your buddy, but..." he hesitated a bit. I gave him an innocent grin, silently willing him to continue. "Well...?" I probed, my tone gently yet dangerously low.
"You shouldn't...shouldn't..." He stammered before looking away. "No, it's nothing," he said.
Oh, it isn't nothing, is it? You don't like me making fun of him, trash talking his greatest fears and dislikes. You don't like me using a sassy way of speech and insulting you whenever I had the chance. You don't like me smiling with malice and challenge.
Yes, Miserea, you see, I DO know everything about you...

Miserea's pov
Is it possible to be scared of your own buddy?
Sure, I like him. Plus, he's a strong buddyfighter, but... I can't explain it, but the way he talks to me and commands me makes it seem like he knows me so well, even though we just met.
The way he trashed and insulted that Da*Dan was so lethal I almost cringed in the middle of his attack phase and interrupted him. I just don't understand! Why is this kid so innocent- looking yet so cruel?
Still, he is my buddy. And buddies stick with each other. I smiled nervously at Kiri and sighed. I can't even get the words out of my mouth without breaking his heart. "So, can you guys show me around?" He asked the two boys. "Okay! Let's go to the cafe first!" The red and blue-haired one suggested.
As we went on our way, I looked at my buddy's slight smirk, feeling guilty. How should I even tell him?

Miko's pov
Ah, I wonder when Yuga and Ranma will come. I quickly scanned the outside of the cafe. Nope, they're not here yet. Eden was chilling in her usual corner, sipping her tea. Kyaaa! I do wish she could be my big sister, but Amaterasu would be sad...
"Miko, what's wrong?" Amaterasu enquired, making me jump. "Nothing! Just wondering when Yu-Yu and Ranma would come for their pizza," I answered. "Yeah...even Subaru and Masato have come, where could they be?" She sighed.
I was sulking in disappointment when the cafe bell ringed. I walked out, excited. "Hi, welcome to cafe Mikono..." My voice trailed off as an unfamiliar figure stepped in. Ah, it's not Yuga...
"Senior Mamoru! What brings you here?" I questioned curiously. "Actually, I just wanted to discuss something with Subaru," he said. "Is this a bad time?" "Oh, no! You can just say whatever you needed to say,"I assured.
"Thank you, uhhh..." he stopped. "Miko." "Yes, Miko." He thanked me once again and went to sit with Subaru and Masato. I continued to stare out of the glass door, hoping to see the cheeky grin of my childhood friend.
What's taking you so long, Yuga?

Subaru's pov
"Mind if I sit here?" I looked up from my book to see the serious face of Mamoru Sekai. I shrugged and continued reading. Cross flew over and asked, "what did you want to tell us?"
"Uhh...it's about Kiri." I instantly perked up. Gesturing for him to spill, I closed up my book.
"Remember the time Yuga and Ranma introduced him to all of us, and I had to leave because I detected an illegal monster?" He sat down and placed an elbow on the table. "Yes, why?" I inquired.
"Cosmo Man had flown over the entire Aibo and the neighbourhood, but we could not find any," he answered gravely. "I couldn't figure out why. I wanted to greet Kiri formally so I chased after him and the others, but I detected it again. I searched the whole area, but still nothing. But guess what?"
"What?" I urged. "I've been sensing monsters every time I get close to Kiri. Do you think..."Mamoru ended. I raised my eyebrows in disbelief and skepticism. "You're saying that Kiri may be a monster?" He nodded slowly. "Yes, but it's too early to jump into conclusions."
I crossed my arms in thought. Now that I think of it, Kiri does seem unusual, yet powerful. He broke my barrier, smirked sadistically all the time, and Cross did mention a demonic aura lingering around him...Could that be the reason he used Hundred Demons cards too?
"I'll leave you to think about it." Mamoru pushed his chair back in as he walked out of the cafe. "What do you think, Cross?" I managed. "I don't know. Let's just observe him closely for now."

Yuga's pov
"Hi! Welcome to cafe Mikono! The usual?" Miko greeted us cheerfully as always. "You're the best, Miko!" I plopped my butt down on a seat as the aroma of tomatoes, cheese and olive oil wafted from the kitchen.
"Yes! Pizza!" Garga dug in as I said hi to Eden, Masato and Subaru. "For share! That was a nice fight with Subaru, Kiri! I saw it all on Ranga!" Masato said enthusiastically. "Who's was that?" Agito pointed towards Miserea.
"Oh, that'sff Misherea, Kiri'sff new buddy!" I said through mouthfuls of pizza. "Hah? I have no idea what you just said, but he seems super cool!" Masato walked over and patted Miserea on the back. Miserea laughed awkwardly and looked towards Kiri for help.
Sadly, Kiri was too busy giggling at his obvious discomfort to go reassure his buddy. "Katana World, huh? And that lady with weird eyebrows and eyes is your buddy?" Kiri asked before chuckling. "Hi-LAR-ious!"
"This 'lady with weird eyebrows and eyes' can hear you clearly, you know! Grumble grumble I mean smile smile~!" Amaterasu said through gritted teeth. "Also, I am a deity! The Electrodeity of Light, Amaterasu." "Really..." Kiri grinned lightly and stared at Eden.
"And you?" Eden took another sip of her tea and replied him. "My buddy is Archangel Dragon, Gavriel. She is a messenger of the deities." Gavriel bowed and said, "pleasure to meet you and Lord Miserea."
I went back to my pizza, not noticing that Kiri and Miserea tensed at the mention of their names, or that Subaru had been taking a video of whatever was going on. "Yeah! So, can I see your deck now?" I burped.
"Sure...Kiri smiled sweetly and handed it over. All right! This is so fun!
So why do I get such a bad feeling about this?
