Episode 8

Dark Miserea's pov
  "Haha ha ha ha..." I left the now-commissioner Tasuku to chase after my shadow and sneaked back into the hospital ward. As I quietly shut the windows, I suddenly found my buddy in there with me.
  "Grrr..." he turned away and grabbed his head in agony. I just went back into my human form and smiled eerily as he banged a fist on the wall. "What's wrong? To many memories coming back to you?" I probed.
  He gripped his fist tighter and closed his eyes shut. "Looks like I struck a nerve. Hi-LAR-ious!" I chuckled before lying back on bed. He stopped gripping his head and stared at me. "Look, I really want to be your buddy and stay with you, okay?" He started.
  "You're not making things easier." I shifted my vision and smirked playfully. "Oh, don't blame me, it's...part of my nature." I stated as I pulled the blanket over myself. "Then why are you so afraid to change?" He asked. I paused.
  Afraid? Me? I threw my head back in amusement. "Still wisecracking, aren't you," I teased as my tone took a dark turn. "It's not that I'm afraid to, I'm just staying like this because I'm not supposed to change."
  "I am the Third Omni Inverse Water Lord, and I will always be." I snapped. He traced his fingers across my chin. "You can change," he whispered. "No," I groaned groggily. "You can change..." his voice faded as I fell asleep.

-The next day-
Miko's pov
  Kiri's in hospital? Oh, the poor guy. I hope he's alright.
  As Amaterasu prepared Garga's pizza, the cafe bell rang. "Hi, welcome to Cafe Mikono! What can I do for you?" I greeted. Then, I gasped. "Kiri?! I just heard that you were in hospital!" He just shrugged and smiled lightly. "Sorry to disappoint," he said sassily.
  "Sorry! I didn't mean to offend!" I apologised hurriedly and Yuga noticed him. He nearly choked on his pizza as Ranma called Kiri's name. "Hey, man! Whoa, you heal fast, Kiri!" He shouted over.
  "Rheah, I thourt ru were rust min rere or two rays!" Yuga mumbled through his pizza. (Translation: Yeah, I thought you were just in there for two days!) He sat down beside them casually and looked in my direction.
  "Don't mind if I ask, why do you always give them free pizza whenever they come? Mainly, Yuga," He teased. "Well..." I was at a loss for words. He giggled as I averted my eyes nervously.
  Squeal! We have been doing this for so long it just seemed normal. Why did I do this in the first place? "That's because we're friends!" I explained simply. "I mean, I provide tea for Eden too..." Kiri's lips curled up as he suddenly stood up from his seat.
  "I challenge you to a buddyfight!" He pointed his deck at me before grimacing and stumbling unsteadily. "Careful, you've just recovered." Yuga supported his arms as he waited for an answer. "I accept," I replied.
  I wonder how much he's improved after getting his buddy...

Miserea's pov
  "Wherever there's a buddyfight, Ion Nanana will be there!" The UFO warped into the virtual stage and Ion started commentating. "Today's match is between Kiri Hyoryu and Miko Mikono, chu!" Takokichi added. "Now will both fighters please luminize their decks!"
  "Purge evil, purify the unclean and protect the innocent. Luminize, Blessed Heavenly Light!" Miko exclaimed.
  "Let it begin, the demise of those who stand before me! Luminize, Dead End World!" My buddy cried.
  "Aaaaaaaannnnnd...Buddyfight!" "Time to raise the flag!" They said together. "Dungeon World," he declared. "Katana World!" Miko cheered. "Miko will have the first move," Ion gestured.
  "I draw, charge and draw. I equip, Kagura Bell Of Worship!" ( 1,3000) A ceremonial bell appeared in her hand. "I will now attack the fighter!" She hit my buddy with the item and ended her turn. "Wow, only a critical of one? Hi-LAR-ious!" He mocked as Miko just grinned.
  "Draw, charge and draw. I buddy call Overturn Ice Emperor, Miserea to the right!" I jumped to the right in a whirlpool of water. "There he is! The Ice Emperor is in the house!" Ion screamed. "You say that you're friends, huh?" My buddy brought up.
  "I equip! Adventurer's staff, Alcsbane! I think you think of him...specially." My buddy chuckled as Miko blushed bright red. I glared at him, like: "We've talked about this." He ignored me and started attacking.

Amaterasu's pov
  "Miko! Focus!" I tapped on her shoulder as the attack from the item came in. "I buddy possess! Electrodeity Of Light, Amaterasu!" She snapped out of it in time and I entered her body. "I have 8000 defence, which isn't enough for your item," I reminded.
  "It's enough for my buddy, remember?" He smirked and commanded his buddy to attack Miko. "Activate my ability! I get defence+4000, Miko gains 1 life and draws a card!" Miserea got bounced off and Kiri pouted.
  "My turn is now over," he sighed. I exited Miko's body as she began her turn. "Draw, charge and draw." She beamed happily before beginning her main phase...

-Timeskip to somewhere in the middle of the match-
Miko's pov
  This isn't good. I'm getting overwhelmed! "I attack you with my item!" Kiri ran towards me as I desperately casted a counter spell. "I cast! Sol Aurora!" I cried. He just chuckled sadistically and ordered his buddy to attack me.
  "You say you provide pizza and tea because they're friends, but I know you," he taunted. "You want Eden to be your big sister, to chat with you and protect you. Hi-LAR-ious!" He mocked as I took the damage.
  Amaterasu started to complain, "But I'm Miko's big sister, not her! Grumble grumble I mean smile smile..." I started to pant a little as  he continued to talk trash. No wonder he was so hard to beat!
  "Tell me! Do you like Yuga?!" He yelled as his final monster attacked me. I teared up as I looked at the floor blankly. Do I...like Yuga...? As time seemed to move in slow motion, I finally knew my answer. I looked up.
  "Do I like him? Of course...I do!" I shouted at Kiri as I blocked the last attack...

Dark Miserea's pov
  She actually admitted it! Oh my Yamigedo, that was the best results I've ever had from the insults I gave. My eyes widened in sheer excitement as she began her turn. When I looked out of the fighting stage, I saw Yuga's  jaw drop in shock. Hi-LAR-ious!
  "So, he IS more than a friend to you, isn't he?" I easily survived through that turn thanks to Miserea's Overturn and started mine. "Draw, charge and draw. Now, link attack with me!" I charged towards her as my next words tore her heart to pieces...
  "No, I am not weakened by my desires," Miko calmly replied. "In fact, it's my love for him that gives me strength, to keep going!" I sneered as I delivered the finishing blow. "I'll destroy those desires then!" I yelled.
  "You can change."
  I stopped mid-swing as that voice replayed in my head.
  "You can change."
  "Stop..." I strained my arms to hit her.
  "You can change..."
