I'm so on time, I may as well be early, amirite? :D

Lindsey stared at her ceiling, it was two a.m., all the lights were on.

She didn't even factor in that real love could be between them. This isn't what she wanted to happen. She just wanted Frank to be happy. Now he's going to get his heart broken over a fucking circumstance and it was all her fault.

He's leaving. Gerard had to leave in mid-September. There's no changing it.

She felt sick to her stomach. She pulled herself into the fetal position and buried her face into her blankets.

"Oh god." She whisperedTears stung her eyes and she squeezed them closed.

She and Gerard talked about it for nearly an hour. There was no fixing it. Gerard may love Jersey, and love Frank, but his life is in France. His home, friends, job, some of his best memories. He can't just stay in America forever.

Gerard nearly cried talking about it. She's hurting both of them.

Frank was like her little brother, she should have known that this would happen, and she should have done a better job at protecting him.

It's all my fault.

She was the one to push them together. She said Gerard should stay with them. She manipulated the situation. She made them swap phone numbers. She made sure they were alone often. She had Frank open up to him about his interests. She told Frank to dance with him that night they first kissed. She'd told Gerard numerous times to keep going at it.

And why? Because she thought it'd be cute? She might as well be Linda.

It could have stayed at mutual attraction and sexual remarks, but no, she had to go and change things up.

She had wanted them together this whole time, and it worked.

The tears rolled down her cheeks silently. Frank was going to get so hurt. What if he hated her for it?

What if his depression came back? What if he didn't make it out of it this time?

What have I done?

Her heart fell to her stomach and with every thump she became more nauseated.

Why did she have to mess everything up? Why couldn't things just stay how they were?

Why couldn't she just sit through Linda's constant ravings about how perfect Lindsey and Gerard are together?

The awkward would have been fine, she would have preferred the awkward to whatever the fuck she was putting them through.

She's hurting the people she loves most by pinning them together.

If only Gerard didn't have to go, if only they didn't have to separate-

Suddenly, she had a thought.

"Fuck!" She shot upward on her couch, scaring the shit out of her barely-awake roommate.

"Jesus! Lindsey what- are you crying?"

"Yes, but I'm fine." She wiped her wet face and snatched her laptop off the end table.

She checked the date, August 7th. If Gerard returned to France the day summer ended, it'd be barely over a month left for them together. .

"I think..." She  opened a previously written word document. "I think I can fix this."
