Chapter 16: The Plan

For a second, time froze. 

The wind stopped blowing and the trees went still, not a single passing car on the highway above made a noise, and they stared at each other.

But only for a second. 

"W- What?" Frank asked. Had he even heard him correctly?

"Come with me." Gerard said softly, wiping away at Frank's cheeks to dry them. "Let's go back to France together."

Frank blinked and looked down at his hands, wide eyed. "I- I- Well, you-"

Gerard gently lifted his chin back up, looking into his eyes pleadingly. Please don't say no.

"Gerard..." Frank whispered. "I love you."

"I love you too, mon cheri." He smiled weakly. Please say yes.

"I want to go with you." Frank said slowly. "But how? It's so short notice."

Gerard took his hands and held them together. "Your passport is ready, I have the room in my apartment, we can fly you back here in a couple of months." He swallowed. "We already fixed everything."

"We?" Frank echoed.

Gerard's face flushed. "Lindsey."

"Lindsey." Frank whispered, shaking his head.

Gerard cupped his cheek. "Please come with me." He begged.

Gerard's heart pounded in his chest, he felt that it may explode. Tears filled Frank's eyes again, but this time, they were happy tears.

"I'd love to."

Gerard sighed in relief and pulled him over by the back of his head, kissing him passionately. Frank smiled against his lips, pulling their bodies closer together by the fabric of his jacket.

Frank pulled away with a breathless smile and his eyes closed. He touched his fingers to his lips, his heart absolutely soaring in his chest. Gerard pressed a slow kiss to his forehead and lifted his chin to look at him again.

"I love you." Gerard whispered. "So much."

Frank opened his eyes and looked at him shyly, his cheeks darkening to a deep shade of pink. But he wasn't embarrassed by it, he wanted Gerard to see his blush.

Suddenly Gerard stood and pulled Frank up with him. He picked him up and spun him around. Frank wrapped him arms and legs around his boyfriend's body with a giggle, holding him tight.

Gerard stopped spinning and kissed his cheek. "I love you."

Frank smiled and bit his lip. "I love you."

Frank hummed and pulled the Star Wars bedsheets over his shoulders, snuggling closer to his boyfriend. 

"Good morning." Gerard kissed his head. "Would you like coffee?"

Frank hummed dismissively in annoyance and held Gerard a little tighter.

Gerard smiled and leaned away, pulling the sheets back to look at him.

Frank glared up at him, squinting at the sunlight and blindly hitting at Gerard's chest. "Cover me back up, I want to sleep." He took the blankets back forcefully and covered his head.
