Dazai - Abandon

"Why did you leave?"
"Why did I leave? "

Osamu Dazai and (l/n) (y/n) are long time friends, Best friends, those two share a special bond that both of them treasure so much, so much anyone could mistake them as a couple if you were to see them tease each other

But that's not it, they are no couple, not even a pinch of that, the both of them are just two people who see each other as a friend, an ally, and someone who can lean on.

Or maybe this is just another occurrence of a one sided love?

"(Y/n) the day has finally come!" dazai ran through the hall of the agency and fastly ran to the stall of his best friend, with a smile plastered on his face

"What now dazai? Can't you see that I-woah!!" she wasn't able to finish her sentence as dazai rotated her chair and put each on his arms of both sides of the chair so that she's facing her while his arms are locking her sides while sitting

"H-hey dazai! You're too close! Watch my personal space you know!" the girl said with a blush tinting her cheeks as the distance between both of their faces is really really small.

So small that she can observe the handsome features of the man in front of him

Fluffy brown hair that I want to touch

That sharp jawline

His lips that are currently showing happiness

And most of all, his eyes, that hide a huge mystery

Dazai of course noticed this and immediately said : "Oh? Is that a blush I see? Don't tell me you like me (y/n) - chan?"

The statement cause her whole face to redden much more, then replying with an annoyed tone

"Of course I'd blush! Anyone would idiot! Look at our distance! People would literally think anything bad of this situation!"  she said as she slightly pushed dazai so that he let go of the chair

She then proceeded to sit comfortably

"So what do you want?" she asked

"ah life! I found her! The girl of my dreams!" Dazai exclaimed as he clasped both of his hands together with joy

The same didn't go to the (h/c) haired girl though she was still processing everything

That while processing she felt her heart ache

That if feels as if someone is stopping it from beating

"what?" she said with her eyes widened

Dazai then chuckled "silly (y/n)! I found her! The girl who would commit double suicide with me!"

She couldn't believe it, it's actually true. Dazai has found his lover

And it wasn't her

She tried to reason out to dazai
"are you sure? Don't you think she's just using you?"

"i'm not that stupid you know (y/n)"

"Maybe she needs something from you?"

"same question, same answer"

"Bu-"

"wait, why does it seem that you're not happy? Aren't you glad that i found someone?" dazai questioned, with a lowered voice

"YES–no—ugh yes dazai! I am happy it's just that. I have to make sure, you're my best friend you know! I have to protect you like you protected me that's why I'm asking those questions" she said with a gentle smile while placing her hand on his shoulder
