Ruined plans

I made it to the park before Angie disappeared out of sight. I lost her. It was probably for the best, I knew following her was wrong. I was about to make my way back to the house before she realised I'd been gone when someone shouted my name. I turned around to see Pablo pushing a little girl on the swings. "Hello!" I smiled as I walked over to him. As I got closer, I realised I recognised the little girl. It was the girl Angie spoke to that time in the restaurant. The sad little girl that Angie cheered up. She looked a lot happier now.

"Who's this?" I asked in a child like voice as I looked down at the girl on the swings.

"This is my niece, Angel." Replied Pablo. "Angel, say hi."

Angel looked up at me with her big brown eyes, she reminded me of a younger Vilu, and said hello.

"You say this is your niece, is this Michael's daughter?" I tried not to sound too interested, but I was actually really intrigued, it would make sense as to how Angie knew Angel.

Pablo let out a little laugh as he shook his head, "no, no. Angel's my girlfriends sisters daughter."

I sat down on the bench beside Pablo and watched as Angel payed on the park. "So you were following Angie?" Pablo aksed, breaking the silence.

"What? No, no I wasn't. I just came for a walk." I tried to shake off his question.

Pablo just sighed at me. "I know you were following her. I saw you." I looked down in disappointment. "However, I also know which direction she went in. I could tell you if you like..." Pablo fell silent again for a minute. "But, you need to make a decision. Are you going to follow her, or trust her?"

Completely ignoring his question, I swiftly moved on. "Why are you helping me? You hate me." I pointed out.

"No, I don't hate you." He laughed slightly, "I hated that Angie loved you and not me. But I'm over that now. I'm about to get married. I'm very much in love. I know you love her, German. I always knew it. You and Angie deserve to be as happy as me." Pablo carefully stood up and took Angel's hand. "By the way, she went that way." He quickly added, pointing to the right, before leaving the park.

I slumped down on the bench a little bit more and let out a sign. That was weird. Pablo was nice to me. Me. Of all people! I looked in the direction he told me Angie went in and I couldn't see her. I decided that was a good thing and that I wasn't going to follow her. If she was with Michael, there's nothing I could do about that.

I quickly got off the bench and made my way back home, I was hoping to return before Angie was home.

Quickly and silently I came through the front door and thought nobody saw me. I was wrong.

"Where have you been?" Asked Violetta, who was sat on the sofa.

"Business stuff." I quickly replied as I retreated into the kitchen. Violetta quickly followed.

"Of course you were." She replied sarcastically.

"Why do you say it like that?" She couldn't possibly know I was following Angie.

"You were following Angie." ... Or maybe she could.

"What? No I wasn't." I replied a little too defensively.

"Yes you were. I know you were. I know because I was the one Angie was going to meet." She replied, smugly crossing her arms, knowing she was right.

I let out a sigh of relief, Angie wasn't meeting Michael. Maybe I still had a chance with Angie. I just have to tell her how I really feel. "Okay, fine, I was. But please don't tell her I was following her."

"You were what?" I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around to see Angie casually leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed. I'm sure my heart skipped a beat when I saw her standing there.

I grew silent and looked down at the ground like a puppy who knew he was in trouble. "You were following me?" She asked, suddenly standing up tall, no longer leaning against the frame.

"I'm gonna go and... yeah..." murmured Violetta as she left the kitchen with her head down.

"Why were you following me?" She asked.

"Angie, I can explain..." I started.

"Well, go on. I'm listening." She snapped back.

"I followed you because-"

"That's it. That's all I needed I know. You were following me." she cut me off. "You don't trust me and that's all I need to know. That's it isn't it? If you don't trust me I better leave the mansion. It's probably for the best. Best for both of us."

"Angie that's not true." I stated calmly. "Please don't go. Let me make this right!" She can't leave!

Angie laughed at me before turning to walk away. She was halfway out the kitchen when she turned back around to face me. "Do you want to know where I was and who I was with?" I didn't say anything. I stayed silent. "I was with Vilu. I was planning a surprise for you with Vilu." she whispered slowly, before walking away. I wanted to follow her but something told me I shouldn't. So I stood frozen in the kitchen. I really blew it. But why would she be planning me a surprise?
