11. FORGIVENESS

"What do you mean I'm not your son? I'm a Black wolf like you, these genes are rare only a few have these. What do you mean I'm not your son? If I'm not your son then who's my father?"

Taehyung was very confused at what his father is telling him. So everything he believed in was a lie? Everything in his life is falling apart, first it's Seokjin, now his identity. Who is he really? It feels like the truth is a bomb that swept away all his strength and his will to live.

"We, black wolves are rare in number you know that, right but before, We once lived peacefully in one pack along with other wolves, but everything changed when your father, the pack's Alpha that time, took advantage of your mom and killed his mate for her. Your mom didn't want him as she knew that he is already mated. But your father wants otherwise, he wants to make her his in any way possible. That caused a havoc between the whole pack as they disagreed of his actions. He started killing those who opposed him and at the middle of that chaos your mother and I met each other. I found out that she was pregnant and I accepted you, I accepted her wholly and escaped that hell hole, we managed to stand again and this pack was built.

Your father, he died. The wolves have no other choice, he will kill everyone that comes his way as he's gone crazy. I don't have any plans on telling this to you, well, I almost did when I heard of what your planning to Seokjin. I knew you will reject him, I got frightened, I have loved you as my own son and I can't bear to see you become like your father. I knew I had to do something for you, I don't want you to end up like him."

Taehyung carefully listened to every word that his 'father' told him as they sit side by side on the seashore watching the sun before they say goodbye to Jin and set him free after all this confessions. He can't believe that his mother had endured that and still lived him wholeheartedly. He hadn't seen any sign of disgust or hate when she looks at him but instead all he sees is love. Not just from his mother but also from the man in front of him, he treated him as his own, made him feel loved and cherished. He had a great childhood, one that Seokjin was deprived of. He shouldn't blame his biological father of his actions but he can't help but think that he is just like him.

"I think I have ended up like him already. And father, believe me or not I'm terribly sorry for what happened to Seokjin. I am the sole reason why he died. I didn't took care of him like what you told me, but instead I did the opposite. Did you know that the first day he spent on my house I throw away all his heat suppressant and when I found out that he is in heat that day, I fucked somebody else and let him suffer on the other room. My wolf instincts tells me that I should check on him but I didn't and rejoiced on his misery, V, he pushed me so hard to do it and when I did, I saw two Alphas doing nasty things to him. And you know what I said?"

Taehyung's eyes were now clouded with tears as he confessed to his father. He will still call him that, because he made him feel like his son. He will cry in front of him and apologize, he can't do it to Seokjin now, but he would apologize to his father. His soul will always be incomplete looking for Seokjin but he won't find him and that's the price he has to pay because of his actions.

"I said that he's enjoying what they do. That he is crying because he loves it. I even mocked him after you punished me. I told him that he deserves that because I will not fuck him so better yet let those filthy Alphas do it for me. I was so cruel to him, father and he remained nice and composed never did he raised his voice at me.

After a week he said that he doesn't want to sleep in his room because he was afraid. I didn't knew that his so called father is setting him up to those men. He did asked for help from me, and I threw him inside that room and locked him up. He cried for help and I paid no attention. I even called him a pack slut without knowing what he went through."

Taehyung can vividly remember every detail of what he did. He won't defend himself, he is at fault. He won't even expect being forgiven.

"I'm sorry that I did that. I can never make Seokjin return and make up for what I did. I was the worst mate and your fear had came true, I became the same monster as my real father. I'm sorry you lost your son because of me. I'm sorry I was not a better person. I thought I was doing the right thing but I was so wrong. I wish I was like you, father. I wish I understood what taking care of my mate means earlier. Now, I don't know how to live anymore.

His last words to me was 'Too Late'. Father, I'm too late. Too Late to help him, too late to treat him better. Too late about everything."

He looks at Seokjin's lifeless body on the raft that he made and he filled it with flowers. It looked beautiful except that the beauty lying in it is not breathing and won't appreciate what he did. Everything was just too late for him. Too late.

A tap on his shoulders and a warm smile was what he received in return from his father. "It's okay. You're not like your father. You are way more better. Stop blaming yourself, forgive yourself, son. We'll get through this. Learn from that mistake, and do better. I am planning on giving you the position of being the Alpha, you will make a great leader. Seokjin would want that for you, he's a good kid. I know he would want me to forgive you, and you know I can't stay mad at you for a long time. Now, let's set Seokjin free and let him be at peace." Taehyung cried harder. He doesn't deserve this kindness in his whole life after what he did.

His father helped him and they got up from the sand. His father held the torch that was placed near the shore and talked to Seokjin.

"My son, time is cruel. Father wanted to hug you and give you the world but I can't, you're already gone. But don't worry maybe we'll meet again after a thousand years, a million, maybe? I don't know. When the time comes that someone will take away my immortality, I'll be happy to take that and be with you, son. Don't worry I'll take care of your mate. I love you, son. Be happy now."

It's Taehyung's turn to talk to him now and he can't say anything. He can't start talking.

"Seok-seokjin" he choked, "I'm sorry I was not a better mate for you. You were too pure unlike what I told you. I'm sorry if I said things that hurt you the most. I wish I can take that back and make you happy. I'm really really sorry."

He broke down and knelt on the sand. He watch as their father lit up the raft and sent him off to sail on the sea. The beautiful sunset won't console the heaviness his heart feels. It's hard to say goodbye to Seokjin. He will never be able to forget Seokjin and the lesson he has thought him.

"Until we meet again, Seokjin."
