Last night we got hammered. The BOH is in the weeds, I'm in the weeds, 2 hour wait, yada yada.
Get sat a table of 3 'ladies', who are clearly irritated that they didn't get sat immediately, and are hell bent on taking their frustration out on me. No problem, I can deal. Kill 'em with kindness. First 2 ask me a ton of questions, I answer, get their overly complicated orders. Last lady grins at me and says, "You might as well pull over a chair, i have allergies"...
Ok, I take allergies seriously, and I ask her what they are so we can avoid them. In response I get, "That is personal information, so I will ask you questions, and you will answer." Fantastic, can't wait. We run through a couple things, and then she asks about a particular glaze we have for salmon. I run through the ingredients, and she tells me "No, go back and get me a list of every single ingredient, and how much is in it, I need to know EXACTLY." So I trot my ass back to the kitchen, find the poor kitchen manager, and off I go back to the table with the list.
She decides this is acceptable, and orders it. As I take her menu, she says, "Oh, one last thing. I'm not actually allergic to anything. You wasted my time by not seating us immediately, so I decided to waste yours."
Whatever lady. We all made it through the night, and I made bank, even after your table sifted me.
