Deamon within

~1~ Run

Why am I feeling so cold and hurt? What happened? Why do I smell ashes? Far away I could hear sirens of police and fireworkers, Ambulances.. I open my eyes to see ashes, small fires around me, the ruins of a building, a hospital... "There she is!", I hear some men say. And before I know I get grabbed from behind..

"Ava Deamon, you are accused of starting two fires and murdering three people with the attempt to kill more", the police officer says while he drags me. "M-murder? S-starting a fire? What, where's Sophie??", I ask confused.

"Don't play innocent dear, you burned down your house,  you killed your parents and your little sister died in the fire, after that you tried escaping burning the hospital down", he says. My face turns pale. NO NO NO, Sophie can't be dead, my parents can't be dead, I didn't do anything why does he think I did this? I  start crying loudly; "SOPHIE nooo". "You did that yourself young lady", the officer says. What happened to not guilty until proven differently, to my rights, who is HE to decide I did that. And why, why Sophie? I thought. Ouch..he is holding onto me so tight.. F****** basterd get hurt yourself let go of me, leave me alone! I think to myself. "OUUUCCHH AHHHH", startled by the scream I look up. The officer stands there screaming holding his arm which he held me with a second ago, it turned all red, burned.. How... lucky, just when I hoped he'd let me go, he did.

"You're welcome"

"HUH", I would swear I heard a voice, but nobody is here. I must've imagined it.

"What are you waiting for, RUN"

I swear I heard it again but, must be going crazy. But I could run now, I think.

One look to the officer still hurting and behind me, a few people noticed but nobody important. My feet start moving, faster and faster. I run out the street, left, right, straight ahead, to the forest. I need to get to the forest. I need to escape, I need to find out what happened. I never ran so fast in my entire life, everything around me has turned silent, like all the sounds are slower as how fast I'm running and there, there I see the forest before me. A sigh of relief escapes my mouth and I start running a little slower. I enter the forest and know exactly where I need to go. Thank god I always played around here. I stop running and start walking,  looking behind me. No one seemed to have followed me.

"Well done"

OKAY now I am sure I heard something, someone.. I see the lake ahead of me. But I trip over a branch, caught in my thoughts.

I push myself up and as soon as I do that, I notice I'm still crying. I try to wipe away the tears with my sleeve first my right eye, then my left... Ouch. I look at my sleeve, little burned holes get bigger where my tears of my left eye are on. I run to the water and see, fire streaming out of my left eye, instead of tears..tears of fire.

NO, what's this for stupid dream, stupid nightmare. Wake up Ava wake up! I punch myself, kick in the water, grab to my eye, just to see my hand get little burns. "No no no, this can't be real, this isn't real, I'm asleep and I'm gonna wake up". I am gonna wake up in my room, smelling fresh bread. With Sophie softly shaking my arm to wake up, that I'm dreaming and everyone is waiting for me and I'm gonna be late, late for school.

"Uhhh humans are always SO dramatic. Even half humans are. Come on you are awake, stop with the crying and the drama, ugh why you have to be this weak?! Get yourself together"

"Where are you"?! There's no one, no one around. Is there? I need to run I need to hide.

No.

I need to wake up
I NEED TO WAKE UP!
WAKE UP AVA
"WAKE UP!"

"You are AWAKE"
