~8~ Her last words

My hands touch the coffin of Sophie. Confused by the feeling I get when I do, I look around to other people, to the keeper behind me. They're all.. they aren't moving? "What's this..?', I ask out loud hoping maybe Ignis would answer. But he doesn't.

Then fire runs over the coffin, like water would, it looks like someone is throwing water over it from fire. I step back scared and the shapes take shape, the shape of a little girl, of Sophie.

"Yeah, now you have done it"

"What's happening?"

"When we, bisouled creatures touch a grave, dead body or coffin in this case, the time around stops for a while and we see the last words of the one that died. It's sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. But I don't think, Sophie is the one you should hear from now"

So, I'll hear her last words, her last moments. I hardly remember what happened that day.

"Ava?! Ava where are you?! Help!", The flame-Sophie starts talking and moving like she's searching trying to get away. "No AVA! Please don't die, wake up Ava, wake up please. I can't without you, please!", her voice sounds so scared and like she's crying. The shape of her looks like she's shaking another person, kneeled next to it. "No! You may not die, I'm sorry Ava, but I don't care you started this, you should live.. I love you sister, I'm sorry..", the voice says while the shape lays over something. Then she screams and other flames show something like a wooden piece falling onto her. "I love you", is the last weak word she says. Then the flames die off and I hear people talking around me again.

"I'm sorry you had to see that. Ava? Are you alright?"

She, saved me. At least looks like it, she saved me over her. She said she loved me.

"Ava, are you alright? You touched it, didn't you?", the keeper asks while he walks closer to me, laying his hand on my shoulder for comfort.

"She saved me", I mumble. I don't get it.. she saved me from dead by protecting my unconcious body with hers.

"She loved you"

The keeper takes my arm and tries to pull me away. "No, I'm fine, I want to stay", I say with a way more confident tone in my voice than I'm feeling inside. He nods and we walk a bit to the back of the crowd again.

"Today we are here to proof our loyalty to a young girl, Sophie who tragically died", the guy in front calls out with a loud voice over all the people. Everyone keeps silent. "Unfortunately, there's no parents for her to say some words, this fire destroyed a lot, but we are all here to say our goodbyes", he talks on but I don't hear a lot of it anymore. I can't believe she's gone and I certainly can't believe she's gone because she tried to safe me.
"Now, please silently leave this graveyard and if you still want, walk pass the coffin to put flowers down", he says before walking off.

A lot of people walk away, but half of them goes up to the coffin to put flowers by her. "I still wanna go up there too", I say.

"I get that, we'll wait until most left", the keeper answers.

"Uh, won't we get caught?! I mean now everyone is there come on"

"Ignis", he says a little annoyed. There ain't following an answer, only a sigh.

After a while most people left and I look around, I see some flowers growing through the grass and walk up there. I pick the flowers and put them in my hands. I wish these were black.. or at least more personal. The moment I think, my hands start to glow a bit orange again. Quickly I look behind me to see if nobody is watching. When I look back towards the flowers they're black coloured with orange and red edges around the leafs. Creepy, but beautiful, I think.

I walk to Sophie her coffin. The keeper sees the flowers and wants to say something, but he doesn't.

"Hey Sophie, I have some flowers from me", I put them down. "I, uh, saw how you saved me, don't ask how, but..thanks for that. When I came here, I didn't know what I would say or do. The only thing I could think of, was that it was my fault. I wasn't supposed to see or hear any of your last actions, but now I did and it made me help to say this all. Sophie, you were the best little sister I could have ever imagined, I love you so much and if I ever find a way, to bring you back to life, sounds crazy but more crazy things happened to me last time, I would do anything to make it happen. I miss you and I don't think anyone can fill up the missing piece in my heart". I sigh, I feel I'm crying by the burn on my cheek. I hear Ignis inside of me crying too, weirdly..

"Sophie, I hope you're, no I KNOW you are the prettiest angel up there in heaven, you're bound to become a guardian angel of someone in the future. Because you're so sweet and caring. I guess I just want to say, goodbye, my beautiful sweet sissy"
