Y/n POV

"GRIFFIN HURRY UP!" I yelled from outside his house. I didn't want to be late to school because it was embarrassing. Just then Griffin came it and smiled. "Good morning y/n" he said. "Good morning griffin". Griffins my best friend. Always has been. He was the kindest, silliest and most adorable guy I knew. He didn't know, but I had a massive crush on him. Who wouldn't? I smiled to myself and Griffin said "why are you smiling?" I quickly replied "what are you talking about? I wasn't smiling" he replied sarcastically "whatever you say". Griffin was such a goofy guy and always teased me and was always being silly. "So y/n, I know you're crushing on someone. Who is it?" He was always asking me who I like but I always told him that it was no one. "Y/n you're such a bad liar" Griffin started teasing me about being a bad liar. Finally we got to school and we were on time. The bell rang and we walked to our home room. We sat next to each other. Our home room teacher, Mr Deckers, was marking the role when a guy around our age walked in. "Uh is this the 12D home room?" The guy said in a thick British accent. Must be an exchange student. Mr Deckers replied with a smile "yes it is and you must be Louis Penman" and the British guy nodded and sat down next to Griffin. I noticed Stephanie was practically drooling over Louis already and so was almost all the girls in our homeroom. Except me. I mean sure Louis had good looks and a nice accent but I didn't really care. I sighed as I noticed Griffin staring at Stephanie. Stephanie was the most popular girl at the school. You know the girl that is pretty, rich, a snob and dates the football captain. Yep that's exactly what Stephanie is. Tom who was the football captain and Stephanie and Tom had dated about 100 times. They got together, broke up and got back together. They had broken up not to long ago. Stephanie was probably making a plan in her head as to how she could make Louis love her. I knew that Griffin liked Stephanie. What guy wouldn't. Anyways Griffin would never like me. I'm weird and annoying.  Louis started talking to Griffin and they seemed to get along pretty well.

I didn't see Griffin for most of the day because he had become such great friends with Louis that he hadn't really hung out with me. Stephanie's friend group consisted of, Taylor who is Stephanie's best friend, Connor the guy who used to tease me and probably Louis now. Finally school was done and I was waiting outside the school gates for Griffin. I saw Griffin with the exchange student and Griffin waved at me. I waved back as they walked over. "Hey y/n turns out Louis is staying with me!" I smiled at Griffin and said "that's great, you guys seem to get along really well"
"Griffin has been very kind to me and I'm so thankful that he doesn't mind me staying in his house" Louis said. I smiled at both of them. My phone started ringing. It was my older brother, James. James has graduated from my school 2 years ago and was now at university. He was studying to be a sport teacher. I answered. "Hey James, what's up?"
"Hey y/n, I'm just calling because I really miss you guys. What are you doing?"
"Aw that's sweet, we all miss you as well. I'm with Griffin and a new exchange student named Louis"
"Damn you and Griffin have been friends for so long now. I remember when he would come over and we would all play monopoly. We were always so bad at that game" I laughed. We didn't really know how to play back then so we invented our own way of doing it. "Well I better get going sis, I'll leave you now"
"Okay, talk to you later then?"
"Sure thing. Also I was thinking, should I come back home for Mums birthday next month?"
"Yes you should! It'll be the best birthday surprise for her!"
"Okay bye sis" and he hung up. I put my phone away and Griffin said "was that James?"
"Yep, how'd you know?"
"I've known you and him for years, it's easy to tell when you are talking to him" he replied. I laughed and we continued walking...
