I woke up at 6:30am on Thursday and was about to get ready for school when I remembered that it was a public holiday so we all didn't have to go to school. I was about to go back to sleep when I got a phone call. I groaned and sat up to check who was ringing. It was griffin so I answered. "You need to come over right now!" He said in an urgent tone. I rode as fast as I could on my bike to his house. I unlocked the door and locked it again. I ran upstairs and opened his door and he was holding a piece of paper in his hands. He looked up at me and smiled. "I got in!" He said and I gave him a hug. "Good job baby" I said and kissed him. He smiled and hugged me. "Lets get ice cream to celebrate" I said and we went downstairs and hopped in his car and drove to the ice cream place.
I hopped out of the car and we went inside and got ice cream. We sat down at a table and when we finished our ice creams, Griffin just kept talking about how he was so excited for us to go to Yale together. "Griffin there's something you should know..." I said. "What is it?" He said worriedly. I looked into his eyes. "I..uh..I..er...I'm not going.." I said. "Going where?" He asked. "I'm not going to Yale..." I responded. He looked at me shocked at what I had said "did they say no? Did you forget to send your entry form?" He asked. "Griffin no. I didn't send it because I don't want to go to Yale.." "but where are you going then?" He asked. "I'm going to Princeton. I got my reply yesterday and they said yes. I was never going to Yale" I looked him in the eyes and saw tears forming. "But..we planned to go together.." he stammered. "No griff. You planned it. I never wanted to" "So you've lied to me every time I asked you if you had sent your entry form and asked if you were excited for Yale? I can't believe you.." he said angrily. I felt tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. He looked me in the eyes and said "I can't do this...Y/n we are over..." he stood up and I called out his name but he was already gone.
The tears started to fall as I watched him drive away. I stood up and went outside crying. It started to rain and I had no ride and no phone so I had to walk for an hour and half back home. I started my walk and cried for what felt like hours. I was halfway through the journey when a car pulled up next to me. It was Levi. "Hey y/n you okay?" He asked. "What do you care?" I said. "Do you need a ride?" "No go away." I said. "Get in the car" he said. I ignored him. "Y/n please get in the car now" my legs were aching so I finally gave in and hopped in the back seat. Levi tried to talk to me but I didn't say anything other then sob. When we reached our houses I hopped out and said thank you and walked inside. I locked the doors and ran upstairs to my room.
