Sorry for the long wait, everyone. I had a few circumstances to deal with but nonetheless, I'll be continuing to update from now. Probably two to three chapters a month since I am also busy with my studies. Anyway, to all my loyal readers, I appreciate all of your support.

Chapter 23
{Third Person's P. O. V.}

She was confused.

She didn't know what to feel or rather, not know what she is currently feeling. The news of her mentor's death, including her grandfather gave such an impact to Y/n, that she felt lost in her own world.

And Seredy told her the reason of the 'Big Accident' incident. She sat on the edge of the school rooftop, in a spot blind to the students from below.

"What should I do?" she asked herself, setting in the view of the blue skies. She swung her legs back and forth, bored and confused.

"Mistress..." she ignored Sebastian, who sighed and decided to sit beside his master. He's never seen her like this. He was used to seeing her stoic face all the time, and get surprised if she lets out a small smile or a grin. But never like this. Her eyes no longer contained the small shimmer it had and now looked completely dead. People say she looks deadlike, but right now, she definitely looked like a lifeless doll.

"Do you want to talk?" the girl shook her head, marking a frown on the butler's face. He took off his gloves, and held her hand, giving it a light squeeze.

"Talking helps, it is a psychological fact." Sebastian said, stroking her pale hand gently as if it would break if he put in more force.

Y/n turned to her butler then back to the skies. A light wind passed, brushing past her h/c locks that shined against the warm rays of the sun.

"Honestly," she muttered, grabbing Sebastian's full attention, "I don't know." this left the adult to stare at her curiously.

"I now know Seredy planned all this. If he thinks that I'm that naive, to fall for his plan, then he underestimates me too much." Y/n let out a dry chuckle.

"I don't seem to follow. What plan?" the adult questioned.

"He wants me to feel guilty. Which I must say, is not going to work."

"Then what is there to think about?"

"That's the problem," she turned to him with a completely blank look "I don't know."

She turned her head to the sky once again, seeing a hawk flying around from afar.

"I woke up and feel different, yet nothing. It's hard to explain, really." she stated, looking down to see students talking to each other in large groups.

"They have come together, haven't they? To stop Seredy?" she questioned with a slight tone of amusement present. Sebastian nodded silently, looking down to see Haruki talking to Gregory and Takeru.

"They formed an Alliance, yes. They're preparing for War Time which will start in ten minutes." Sebastian said, crossing his arms under his chest.

Y/n hummed and resumed to watching the sky. She saw the hawk again who still circled the area, acting as though it was a vulture.

"Odd." she whispered and saw Sebastian walk away, leaving her be on the rooftop.

She prayed that they'd be successful. She, unfortunately, can't help. Her reason was because of her Overload. It was powered by her emotions so she immediately assumed that she'd be no help on the battlefield. Just a regular soldier.

She began to hum randomly, which was very out of character for her. When alone and nothing else to do, she'd usually read a book or sleep or grab some ohagi to fill her with bits of happiness. It may seem cliché but she'd always wonder what it would feel like to be in euphoria.

She wanted to be like a normal person. She was a person but mentally, she's like a machine. A machine gone rogue and scrapped in the trash. A machine with a mind of its own and can only survive by following orders.

She wished for the days where she was a normal child. Who could smile and make other happy and feel sad and angry when messed with. But at the same time, she liked the way she currently was. She didn't want to feel sad, she'd be vulnerable which would hurt her ego immensely and make her see herself as a disgrace.

She wanted to feel emotions but she knew she it was not necessary. She has survived long enough without them, so why want it? It's merely something she desires, not what she needed.

She didn't believe that she needed to be emotionally healthy. Being surrounded by her friends and family was enough. What more could she lose?
