"Hey, Leo. I hear you're trying out for the Talent Show," says Jamal, "Bad idea, bro. You know I'm better than you. You know you're a terrible comedian. I've beaten you at getting laughs countless times. I hope you know that once you get up on that stage in front of the entire school, that you are going to fall on your face."
I'm pretty sure that wasn't a slapstick reference.
"Now tell me. Are you still willing to do this? To get up there and fail?", he asks, getting somewhat riled up.
I look him straight in the eyes.
"Yup."
