Originally, Talia Walker wasn't even a character!
Logan Cash's name was originally going to be Randall Berkeley. I don't know how I went from one to another.
In the rough draft for this book, Ethan ended up being the good guy, and Logan was the one that stabbed Leo in the back.
(This one was dumb.) I had actually planned on having Mrs. Patterson die in a car accident the day before the talent show. Luckily, I dismissed the idea.
This book was originally called "The Science of Comedy".
Ethan was originally going to be a girl! He was going to be Clarissa Harper, but I decided to use the name Clarissa for a different book. (See Room 46)

Every single person in this book is based on somebody I know or knew. Looks, personality, everything.
The majority of jokes and events in this book are events taken from my life. (Not implying that my life is a joke. Just saying the majority of the jokes came from my brain.)
