Today's the day. The Talent Show. We start the show the minute the first bell rings. I figured out yesterday that Jamal is performing in the 228 spot. I'm curious to see his act. But first, of course, I get to sit through 227 acts. Here's a few of the "Major Points":

•Stacy Wendell sings "Brave" by Sara Bareilles and hits every note perfectly.
•The Blaize's skit turns out to be all about Minecraft, which crushes my hopes of their act being entertaining.
•Jeri Carpenter plays the drum solo from the song "Round About".
•Justin Fritz fell of the stage in the middle of his dance routine.
•Jenny Skaggs put together a decent stop-motion film.
•Ronald Plait accidentally nailed Collin Graves in the middle of their Ultimate Frisbee routine.
•About 4,000,000,000 terrible singers took the stage one after another.

That's about it for the first half, actually. Not too entertaining. I get up from my seat to go use the bathroom. I'm not too worried about missing Jamal's act, since there are a few more acts before him.

When I get out of the gym, I see Jamal and Ethan again. It looks like some kind of pep talk...

I use the restroom and come back out. They aren't there anymore. I walk back into the gym. Jamal is up in two acts. Elizabeth Curt and Tara Herbert.

They both sing songs (Shake it Off and Something in the Water), and aren't that bad. Next up is Jamal. Then I'm up after 9 more acts.

Jamal steps up onto the stage. He introduces himself and starts his routine.

"Most of my friends complain about their siblings never getting up out of bed in the morning. I don't have that problem..."

Oh. No.
