I groaned on hearing the peep sound disrupting my sleep again. Turning my body to where the sound is coming from, to switch off the ALARM for the third time... it is 7:30am! Shit shit shit, I forgot that I have a meeting with a potential client today at exactly 8:00am.

Good thing I had prepared my work outfits last week after getting a call from my to be client's secretary.

I got into my presentation mode, black stilettos, knee length black skirt, creme blouse, black blazer and held my hair into a puff.

I don't normally wear makeup especially when it's about business for in my opinion, it's just unprofessional. Men never concrete and other women tend to get a sense of competition, about what exactly, I don't know. Ask my tomboy-ish brain.

Time check, 7:45 am.
"Way to go girl, let's go blow their minds into adding a couple of zeros onto that cheque baby", my inner self said.

Got into my car, and drove off. I don't know how it got here, after last night but that's the least of my worries.
The II building is not far from where I stay, so I reached at the reception with just 2 minutes to spare.

I introduced myself and the receptionist told be to go to the top most floor, which I did meeting a smartly well dressed lady in her 40s, the secretary I presume, who ushered me to the boardroom.

After a few seconds, I saw three gentlemen and the secretary making their way to the boardroom, since it was with glass walls. And the one infront was...Cedrick.

"Keep it together woman", my inner person again. I stood up and straightened my blazer on them noticing my presence.

He seemed unbothered, so I proceeded on shaking their hands, introducing myself. And carried on with the presentation of my designs although I was yet to be informed on what exactly was to be designed.

The secretary had told me that the boss was interested in work after seeing it on the internet.
I had explained to her that I wasn't that experienced since I had just graduated but she insisted that the boss wanted something raw and new hence asking for my work, and here we are.

"Ah, Miss Mitchell?", I was interrupt by Cedrick midway through the presentation. So I turned fully to him, a bit pissed at his seemingly bored facial expression.

"Yes Mr Quinn?" I asked with my "bring it" poker face.

"Looking at your interesting work, I expected more than what I'm seeing now, if this is what I'm going to work with them I'm afraid I'll have to look for a professional.
The buildings II constructs are five star and I expect them to stay that way."

"...with all due respect, Sir." I cut him off. "I think I made it quite clear to this well bred lady on my right that I wasn't in any way experienced to work with any big company as per now, but apparently You insisted.

Secondly, I can't work without knowing what I'll be working on, Sir." I kept quiet.
"Breath bitch," inner self again. So I sighed.

Everyone in the room looked at me as if I grew a second nose.

"We'll talk later, Miss Mitchell," said Cedrick. And with that he exited the room.
One of the gentlemen followed him, while the other gave me a fake applause before exiting too.

"No one has ever talked to the boss like that apart from Mr Quinn Senior and Mrs Quinn...may her soul continue resting in peace. But I liked it, he seemed a little embarrassed." giggled the nice secretary lady.
"You can call me Elenor by the way, I like you already. See you next time." with that she also left.

There's a Next Time? Child!! Christ have mercy.
