After driving for an hour I pulled over at the side of the road, I didn't know where to go everything I owned was at the Salvatore boarding house. I stared out the window off into the countryside just watching the field it had now gotten completely dark so there wasn't exactly much to see except darkness. The peaceful moment was broken by the sound of my phone going off, I pulled it out of my pocket to check the contact 'Damon' I contemplated for a moment before hitting accept.

"Kris?"

"Hey" I said quietly still staring off into the darkness, I was dreading having to go back to the house, what if I never went back?

"Where are you?"

"I don't know, Damon"

"Elena told me what happened she didn't go into detail but I get that whatever she said hurt you," That was an understatement those words hurt me so much, it felt as though she had drove a knife through my heart. "I get why you left, when you come back or if you come back just" He paused for a moment. "Just don't get yourself killed Gilbert"

His words caused me to chuckle lightly "I will Damon, I'll be back I just need some time"

"I'll see you when you get back, Kris"

"See you, bye Damon"

"Bye Doll"

With that the call ended, there was not much to do now so I just continued to stare until my eyes got heavier and heavier till I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

{Time skip to day}

I woke up to a blinding light in my eyes I groaned turning my head to look around. A few cars were rushing by and I was staring to get odd glances from truckers, I knew it was probably stupid to have just ran out without any of my belongings but I wasn't a complete idiot. At least I knew where I was going. Slowly, I wiggled around waking up my body before turning the key enjoying the rumble of the engine as I pulled on to the road. Katherine was a bitch, but she was smart I'll give her that. The motel on route 98 was always a last resort for the both of us she'd made it so no one would bother room 43 and would forget it even existed apart from cleaning. It took me half an hour to get there in total which left me alone for too long with my thoughts. I stared up at the motel letting out a breath before striding over to the door marked 43, I reached into the flower pot pulling out the key and unlocking it. The room was of course kept in perfect condition the beds perfectly made and not a speck of dust on any surface.

I placed the key on the table and flopped down on to the large bed, I didn't know what to do with myself unlike before I didn't have Katherine to fall back on and I couldn't go to Damon. I was alone. Quickly, I pulled myself together marching over to the mini bar and pulling out a bottle of whisky I took a long sip sighing at the familiar burn.

The night went on with me making my way through the bar, the more I drank the worse my vision got. I stumbled back over to the bar after finishing a bottle of wine, tear tracks stained my face long since dried up, bottles shattered as I pushed them out the way trying to find something anything to drink.

"Dammit." I slurred out as I came to terms with my lack of alcohol, I sighed pushing myself up and out the door. It was a bad idea on my behalf as I fell out the door face planting. I tried to push myself up, but I didn't have the strength all I could do was lay there on my front the world spinning around me. Suddenly, hands were on me flipping me around on to my back. Through my blurred vision I focused on the face a smile spreading across my face as I recognised it instantly. "Hey long time no see." I cheered even though the words mushed together, a deep chuckle sounded through the night. It was the only thing I heard before I let my eyes slipped closed allowing myself to fall into their arms.
