I groaned from where I was leant over the toilet, my head felt like it was pounding as I vomited up whatever was left in my system. I turned to the other man with pleading eyes.
"Please just give me your blood," I begged gagging half way through, he just stared from his seat clearly amused. "You kind of owe me you know."
"If I give you my blood you won't learn," The man called out wandering into the bathroom to kneel beside me rubbing my bag as I continued to throw up. "You were doing so well." He whispered more to himself, my head snapped to him with a glare.
"I was but when the only person you think loves you abandons you it messes with your head," I snapped sitting up to stare at him. "You should know the feeling Elijah." The original gave me a sympathetic look grabbing my hand and squeezing it softly, he used the grip to pull me into his chest running a hand through my hair just like he used to. I let myself lean into him enjoying the feeling, Damon had done the exact same thing to me a thousand times but with Elijah it was just different. When I was with him I knew I was safe. "Why did you leave me?" I asked quietly fiddling with the end on his suits jacket, the vampire sighed above me tightening his grip.
"I had to keep you safe," Elijah quietly muttered back, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. "My brother knew where I was and he's looking for you, you know that." I nodded slowly, he'd told me a story of how Klaus was after my family but I couldn't help thinking that he was holding something back.
"You could have taken me with you," I pulled back to look at him, he gave me small smile. "Or told me something I thought you had me just like everyone el-" Elijah shushed me before I could finish moving to rest our foreheads together, I let my body relax against his.
"I would never leave you, darling." Elijah told me sincerely kissing my forehead with that bright smile I loved so much. "Come on let's get you cleaned up." True to his word, as always, he sat me on the counter as he ran a bath testing the temperature every now and again. I watched as he moved around the room so care free, it was like nothing had changed between us. A part of me wanted to scream or hit him for putting me through all that, but the other part yearned for him to just hold me again even if it was just once. I was pulled out of my thoughts by my shirt being delicately pulled over my head my pants slowly following suit leaving me naked in the cold room, I couldn't help but shiver till I was helped into the steaming water. The water rippled around me as I sunk deeper into the warmth humming as the knots left my body I sat with my eyes closed waiting till I felt Elijah slip into the bath behind me. He pulled me back into his chest forcing me to lean against his chest, one arm wrapped around my waist the other leaning on the side of the tub.
"This reminds me a Paris." I whispered staring down at our feet in the water as I wiggled my foot slightly. Behind me came a deep chuckle that had the hairs on my arm standing up. "Really, Darling? Cause in Paris our room had a view of the Eiffel tower, fresh made pastries whenever you called and servants to respond to any of your desires, while here I'm pretty sure I saw a rat when I came up here." I couldn't stop the smile that spread across my face.
"Snob." I muttered flicking his knee when it emerged from the water, even if I couldn't see him I knew he was smiling. "I meant this even if we can't see the Eiffel Tower from the luxury of our bathtub it still reminds me of it, we had a bath like this every night you'd hold me against your chest just like this and I'd feel like the world couldn't get to me." I smiled to myself at the memories alone, those were such good times. "Though I would kill for those chocolate strawberries and that fancy wine you insisted on drinking."
"Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Romanee-Conti Grand Cru." Elijah purred out with a chuckle a hand stroking my thigh.
God had I missed this.
