Once the water had began to cool down Elijah has plucked me out of the bath and dried me with one of the towels before putting some of the spare clothes that we'd left in the room onto me. I lay on my stomach watching him move around the room looking for something.

"What are you doing?" I asked softly still keeping my eyes on him, the vampire turned to me with a smile as he turned his attention over to me coming to sit on the bed next to me. Elijah reached up to stroke a hand through my hair again. "Just checking the room its filthy, you really picked the worst didn't you." I closed my eyes leaning up into his hand as I listened to his soothing voice.

"I didn't your families favourite doppleganger did." I told him feeling his hand tense on top of my head. "After you left I found Katherine she picked me up." Briefly, I opened my eyes to look up at him with a smile on my face he sighed softly rubbing a hand over his face.

"I'm guessing she told you about Thomas then." Elijah told me with an annoyed sigh, I sat up staring him down. "Thomas? Who the hell is Thomas?" I asked staring him down, the originals eyes widened for a moment but he quickly recovered. "I knew you lied to me with all that bullshit you told me before, if you want to ever see me again then tell me now."

"How much did Katherine tell you?" Elijah asked trying to grab my hand, but I pulled it away glaring at him.

"Katherine told me everything she knew , filled in most the gaps you left." I confirmed staring at him intently, all I wanted was answers.

"However there are somethings that not even Katerina knows," I was about to question him however he held up a hand to stop me, the gesture instantly caused me to stay silent. "Don't worry I'll tell you but it would be easier if you didn't interrupt me till the end when I will answer any questions that you have till the end, deal?" He asked to which I just gave him a nod.  "I'm sure Katerina's views on my brother aren't all that positive however he never used to be like that only once our Mother turned him and the rest of our siblings, but once she did it wasn't hard to tell what he would become," Elijah glanced around the room a conflicted look on his face as if he were wondering whether to tell me or not. I didn't understand why he was telling me this I knew his about his family, or at least the basics that his mother was a bitch and his father a dick. "That is why you are so important" I gave him a confused look however I remained silent.

"Our father hated Klaus as he wasn't his own our mother had an affair with a werewolf during those times it was something that brought shame on the household, so he despised him from birth," Elijah swallowed thickly as he relieved the memories of the past, despite my anger I reached out gently taking his hand. The touch seemed to shock him however he didn't say a word. "That was only one reason, Klaus was in love with another man and my father didn't take too kindly to that either. The man was called Thomas and he was the love of Klaus's life I've never seen him love anyone like he loved him but one day Thomas was attacked by a werewolf and he didn't make it" He paused once again and I gave his hand another squeeze offering him a smile. "Klaus was devastated it only added to what he became, a true monster however our mother seemed to be aware of what she would be responsible for so when she created what me and my siblings are she created two things to stop Klaus one was the curse of the moon that suppressed his werewolf side, the o-other." He stopped letting out another sigh. "The other was you"

The words felt as though I'd just been thrown into the deep end of a pool, there was no way that was true. Was I going to sacrificed like Katherine almost was my hands started to shake a little which didn't go unnoticed, this time it was Elijah's turn to reassure me by slowly rubbing patterns into the side of my hand with his thumb. "There were two doppelgangers created like Katerina and your sister who will always appear as long as the Petrova blood line continues however the other was one that will only ever appear once and that is you, our mother used Klaus' love for Thomas and made a way to ground him by creating his doppelganger she only told us of his existence never told us when or where this would happen. I have to admit it was genius Thomas would always be the one thing that bound Klaus to his humanity he spent years searching for you but after around 500 years he gave up hope to be honest we all did," Elijah turned giving me a genuine smile. "I couldn't believe it when I found you two years ago just sitting in a bar, it was like seeing Thomas again after all those years." I was still processing what was happening or what I had just been told.

"S-so I'm the d-doppelganger of an originals ex l-lover" I managed to stutter out still in shock at the thought of it.

"I know its intimidating but you have to understand that Klaus despite what he might be and what he has done would never hurt you" Elijah tried to reassure me once again, but it wasn't working.

"You knew this entire time!" I yelled jumping up and pulling myself away from him staring in disbelief. "Why didn't you say anything?"

"There was never a right time." Elijah explained calmy standing up and trying to make his way over. "I know what your thinking but please Kris you need to trust me and calm down." As he stared into my eyes I felt my body calm instantly, it felt like all the anger I had been feeling was pushed to the side. I looked down swallowing thickly.

"You know I hate when you compel me." I tried to be angry at him but I just couldn't so instead I turned quickly marching into the bathroom and slamming the door behind me. I slid down the door to sit on the floor pulling my knees to my chest.  "Does Klaus know about me?" I spoke softly knowing he could hear me, a soft noise came from the other side of the door.

"No," The voice was slightly muffled, but I could hear it despite it being through the door. "It didn't seem right plus I didn't know how he'd react." Slowly, I reached up unlocking the door shuffling out to see him sitting on the bed with his head in hands.

"Can we just leave this and talk about it tomorrow my hangover isn't feeling this argument?" I said giving a small smile, it wasn't a complete lie I could feel my headache coming back and the sick feeling in my stomach. Elijah stood up with a smile wrapping his arms around my waist. "Of course darling, want me to stay in bed with you?" I nodded softly allowing myself to be lead over to the bed, I curled into the sheets laying my head on his chest. "Do you need anything?" The vampire asked against the top of my head.

"No just hold me." I muttered burrowing deeper into his chest my eyes focused on his blazer that was hung over one of the chairs, from here I could see the rectangle bump in his pocket where his phone would be. A plan already forming in my head.
