I couldn't tell you how long I just stood in his arms waiting till he was ready to let go, I knew that he needed this more then I did. Eventually, he pulled away to look down at me his arms still holding me close.
"You're real." Klaus muttered looking over my face with a smile stretched across his face, slowly he reached up to grip my face running his thumb over my cheek. "You're real." He spoke louder this time finally confirming it to himself. I nodded softly in the grip offering up a soft smile.
"Yeah I'm real," I said with an awkward smile. "I guess, I'm new to the whole reincarnation thing." I tried to save it quickly, this plan had worked so much better in my head but now that I was in front of him I really didn't know what to do or say.
"I'll answer anything," Klaus spoke softly as he lead me into the bedroom, closing the door behind us. "I've been through thousands of witches finding out what I can, trying to understand my mothers grimoire, she always was a cryptic woman. I guess you could call me an expert."
"Thank you I appreciate it," I told him sincerely from where I sat on the bed, I looked around the room for a distraction as an uncomfortable silence settled over the top of us. Klaus moved around to come kneel in front of me taking my hands in his.
"You know I always imagined this moment," Klaus began a gentle smile settling on his face, his thumb caressed my knuckles and the simple touch alone made me want to melt. "In my mind it wasn't in some shabby motel room, it was extravagant something you would never forget."
"What did you imagine?" I whispered softly squeezing his hand, he looked up at me with a grin.
"You would be at a museum in Paris," He chuckled at the thought, while I thought about it for a moment. I'd been to Paris of course with Elijah but even before that I'd wanted to head there, the city was full of beauty and history. "You'd admire one of my paintings and I'd spot you from across the room. I'd introduce myself and you'd instantly fall for my charms." I giggled at that, shaking my head in disbelief. "I'd take you around the city and after a night that only seems to ever happen in one of those cheesy movies I'd tell you everything, then you'd be mine again." I flushed at the last part, it was strange for someone you just met to talk about you that way and if it were anyone else I would have called them out on it but for some reason when Klaus called me his it didn't feel wrong. It felt almost natural.
"I've always loved Paris," I told him, thinking back to all those fond memories. "It was the first the first place Elijah ever took me." I realised my mistake quickly as a look of anger crossed his face at the thought of his brother. "I-I'm sorry I d-" The apology didn't last long as I was hushed, all anger disappearing as he pulled the both of us up into a hug I pressed my face into his chest.
"You have nothing to apologise for seems we've both been deceived in this situation," Klaus brushed it off, as he stroked a hand through my hair. I relaxed into the feeling only moving when he pulled away to look down at me. "Now how about we get out of here?"
"What about Elijah we can't just leave him outside dead.. well passed out. "
"Oh he'll be fine." Klaus brushed me off with a little wave of the hand, I pulled my lip between my teeth nibbling it nervously yet I still nodded. I pulled away yet he kept his arm around me still, eyes fixated on my face still taking in every feature. "Go get your stuff, love."
"I don't have anything with me I kinda didn't plan this," I admitted, with a dry chuckle. The argument with Elena flashing in my mind. "A friend and I just keep this place for a safe house kind of thing, you know a place to relax and chill out whenever we need." I glanced around the bare room, nothing was on the dresser or on the bedside tables. Not a single giveaway that someone was living here. It looked completely untouched considering two people had been staying here for a couple of days. "I've only got the essentials like shampoos and toothpaste."
"What made you come here?" He asked running his hands up my sides, trying to pry the answer out of me.
"It's nothing don't worry about it," I muttered pulling away to go grab my phone from where it was plugged into the wall laying on the floor to the right of the bed. Taking a glance I noticed the flashing icon with Damon's name next to it. "This is all I've really got with me." I called slipping it in my pocket as I turned back to him, with an awkward smile. "Sorry."
"Why are you apologising?" Klaus asked, I felt a gust of air hit me in the face before he cupped my face in hands. "You didn't do anything, this is fantastic news."
"Really?"
"I get to spoil you," He said with a slight gleam in his eyes, I flushed at the claim looking away. No one had ever wanted to 'spoil' me before, it was a foreign concept yet it still made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "Like you deserve." He muttered, his thumb stroking over my cheek. Unknowingly, I leaned into the touch letting out a soft hum.
"Well then lead the way." I muttered with a small smile as I looked up at him. It felt weird knowing that the man in front of me was someone I was destined to be with. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel something for him, but that didn't mean I was falling head over heels in love with him after a few minutes of meeting him. The way he would look down at me with eyes filled with so much love and adoration really threw me off, I felt almost guilty for thinking him of a stranger in some ways.
Klaus smiled down at me an arm still around me as he lead me over to the door, holding it open for me as he ushered me out with a hand on the small of my back. I grimaced at the sight of Elijah's grey body laying on the floor head twisted to the side at an uncomfortable angle.
"Don't look, love." Klaus instructed, shuffling the two of us around the body down to the carpark. "I know an excellent place close by, we can pick up some clothes for you and book a hotel. It'll give me the chance to get to know you, and you to get to know me."
"I already know about you," I told him, forcing myself to not look back. "I mean you're Klaus Mikaelson, you're a legend."
"You flatter me." Klaus spoke up with a chuckle. "But those are the stories of the original vampire Klaus, I want you to know Klaus." We stopped in front of a sleek black car, he pulled open the passenger door for me. I looked up at him with a small smile.
"I look forward to meeting him."
