I had to wait for hours for Elijah to finally drift off to sleep with some coaxing from me, very slowly I pulled myself up and away from him tip toeing over to his blazer. As quietly as possible I took the phone out of its pocket wincing as it rustled under my movements, the original twitched but luckily didn't stir. I darted out of the room closing the door behind me, the sun was beginning to set over the motel. The phone felt heavy in my grasp as I stared down at it contemplating whether or not this was the best idea. Ever since I found out the truth Klaus had been burning a hole in my mind. The curiosity got the better of me as I began to bury through the phone till I found the contact I was looking for, my hand shook as I hovered over the contact for just a moment. I clicked the call button hesitantly raising it to my ear with a shaky breath. The sound of ringing filled my ear till it stopped all of a sudden.
"Elijah." My breath hitched at the sound of a smooth voice came through the other end, it sounded oddly familiar which struck me as weird. "To what do I owe the pleasure."
"You're Klaus?" I asked my voice coming out more shaky then I would have liked, the man on the other side of the phone chuckled.
"Who is this? And where is my brother?" Klaus asked amused, I let out a shaky breath. "Elijah's asleep, we're at a motel route 98 room 42 he wants you to come here." I didn't give him time to respond as I ended the call and headed back to the room putting the phone back in the blazer. I headed back over to the bed tucking myself under Elijah's arm unsure of my plan would even work but all I could do was hope. I let myself drift off to sleep with the thought of Klaus still lingering on my mind.
~
Morning broke causing the two of us to wake up after a quick shower I managed to convince the original to leave me alone to grab some breakfast, I knew that when Elijah caught sight of Klaus he would cart me off somewhere safe. The room was silent as I sat on the bed looking between the blank tv screen and door every so often. I couldn't tell you how long I sat there just staring, as soon as I heard talking from the other side I jumped up pressing myself against the door as I heard the two voices from the outside. One was Elijah that I pin pointed instantly the other sounded so familiar to me yet I couldn't put my finger on who it was, it was almost like hearing an old friend after decades.
"I got a very interesting call last night," The familiar voice spoke up, the voice sent shivers down my spine. "Told me you wanted me here," A deep chuckle broke the air sounding slightly muffled. "It's rude to listen in on conversations, love." I didn't have time to react as the door was pulled open almost making me fall through if I hadn't stopped myself, all I could do was stare up at the man in front of me. He was taller than me by a couple inches with sandy blonde hair, his bright blue eyes seemed to sear into my skin as he stared at me with wide eyes. This was Klaus. The Klaus Mikaelson that made everyone run in fear. However, at that moment I didn't feel scared something about him made my stomach jump as a nagging thought in the back of my mind wanted me to run to him and never let go.
"Kris get back in the room now." Elijah demanded, I tore my eyes away from Klaus turning to look at the other vampire. Hesitantly, I shook my head stepping out of the room further. Elijah stepped forward heading over to me only to drop to the floor after a sickening snap sounded through the air. I stared in shock as his body hit the floor before turning my attention to Klaus, his eyes were trained on me with an unreadable expression on his face. He took a step forward slowly, anyone else would run but I just couldn't bring myself to move, I tried to speak but it was too late.
Arms had already grabbed me pulling my body roughly against him, an arm wrapped tightly around my back preventing me from moving while the other came up to clutch the back of my head forcing my face into his shoulder. I stood in confusion unsure of what to do.
"You're real." Klaus whispered into my neck, despite my confusion I returned the embrace nodding softly as conformation. All the time thinking that this felt right.
{Thank you for putting up with my slow updates, I'm so grateful for all the kind feedback I get from all of you guys it really means a lot to me.
Also I did just realise that while this cute scene is happening between Klaus and Kris, Elijah is lying on the floor dead.}
