Narrator's pov:

A few years later, Valka and Rumpel grew, she was now ten years old and Rumpel was now eight years old. Their father had become the village coward and lost their home so now he tries to earn them money by a little game called Follow The Lady. Valka on the other hand, she would work with some spinster ladies that offered them a place to stay. One day, Valka was selling some of the clothes she made at the trading market when she saw her father and brother. She could see what her father was doing to these people.

One of the people that her father had tricked saw the card and tried to attack him but Rumpel stopped him "Well, he's a poor excuse for a father." said the man as he hit Malcolm. Valka ran over to her family, making sure Rumpel wasn't hurt and she was mad at her father. Valka sold some of her clothes she made then took her brother back to the spinners along with her father. By the time they got there, their father had them stay while he went out to look for a job "Where have I heard that before?" mumbled Valka.

When he left, Valka began to start sewing up more clothes while humming to a small tune "Val, can you teach me?" Rumpel asked. She looked at her brother and nodded yes, he smiled and hugged his sister. But after a few hours, their father hadn't come back yet "Where's papa?" asked Rumpel. Valka got suspicious about their father so she and Rumpel headed to the market and she was right. Their father was doing his Follow The Lady trick again, he saw his children but they had already started to walk away.

Their father had caught up to them but Valka had a look of betrayal in her eyes. Rumpel then revealed something in his hand which was a magic bean "Where did you get that?" Malcolm asked. "The spinner ladies gave it to me. They said that it can transport us to a new realm." Rumpel answered. This would be their chance to start a new life however Valka wasn't really sure about this. She didn't want to leave Rumpel alone with their father but she didn't want to be treated poorly by her father as well.

Suddenly, Malcolm remembered a place when he was a boy. "When my father sold me to slavery, I would always tell myself every night to think lovely thoughts. I would find myself in a place of dreams called Neverland." he explained. Valka was having a hard time believing her father's story but she wanted Rumpel to be happy so they agreed to go. Malcolm threw the bean to the ground and a portal opened up "You sure that this place is real?" Valka asked her father. "I guess we'll find out when we get there." he answered then all three of them jumped in.

With in moments, they had landed on an island beach which was the shores of Neverland. Valka helped her brother up off the ground while their father was giggling with joy. "Hey Val, do you have anything to eat?" Rumpel asked his sister. Malcolm showed Rumpel that in this land whatever they think can come to life. Malcolm even tried to show them that they could fly but failed and landed face first into the sand "Told you it's impossible." said Valka. "I could do it before when I was a boy. Of course, I forgot about the pixie dust." he said.

Malcolm lead his children to a tree that has small flowers that were filled with pixie dust "Val, watch your brother and don't even think about removing your gloves." said Malcolm then he climb up the tree. Valka suddenly heard the sounds of an animal that was coming from a bush "What is that?" Rumpel asked. Valka then worked up the courage and walked towards the sounds and saw that it was a small little dragon with four wings. The little dragon walked over to Valka and nuzzled its head on her leg "Where did you come from?" she asked.

Valka heard the sounds of Rumpel screaming so she grabbed the small dragon in her arms and rushed over to her brother. She saw a shadow grabbing her brother by the waist "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she shouted at her father. Her father wanted to be a boy again so he made a deal with this shadow to give up the thing he loves the most and that was Rumpel. Valka was furious at her father and even more when he said that she can stay with him. "I'm not leaving my brother alone. I would rather be banished to another realm than be anywhere with you!" she shouted.

Malcolm was now a boy and Valka took off her gloves and blasted a small ray of magic that made the shadow creature put Rumpel down. Luckily, she had another magic bean from the spinsters and she and her brother jumped into the portal. They landed near the spinster house and walked inside "Are you okay children?" one of the spinster ladies asked. Rumpel had tears in his eyes and Valka couldn't speak. She explained everything to them and the spinster ladies let Valka and Rumpel stay with them along with the dragon Valka had in her arms.

Later at night, Valka couldn't sleep since she was think about how she finally took off her gloves in front of her brother 'I hope he isn't scared.' she thought. Rumpel came in Valka's room "I can't sleep sis, can I stay with you?" he asked. Valka let Rumpel stay with her then she showed Rumpel a gentle side to her powers. Then the small dragon jumped onto Valka's lap and fell asleep "I get we're all unique in own ways." she said to the little dragon. Rumpel wanted to know what the dragon's name is so Valka decided to call it Cloudjumper.

She saw a sad look on her brother's face and asked him what was wrong "I'm worried. What will happen if you leave me?" he asked his sister. Valka wrapped her arms around Rumpel then she created to halves of a locket with a picture of the two of them. "As long as you wear this locket with the picture of me, I'll always be there with you. No matter where we go." she said, softly to her brother. This was only the beginning of their story.
