Chapter 4: A New Family

Valka's pov:

It's been four days since the ball and I couldn't get that mysterious prince that I danced with that night. Ingrid and her sisters went back to Arendelle but we did write to each other often. Rumpel and I were still into sewing and little Cloudjumper was getting bigger since I found him. I really thought things would be turning around for me but I was wrong. The promise that I made to Rumpel was broken. One day, I was out in the market with Rumpel getting new materials but everyone here was fleeing "What's going on?" I asked one of the townsfolk.

"A twister is coming! Seek shelter and fast!" he shouted. I had to get Rumpel to safety before the twister hit so we rushed back home but somehow the twister had already hit where we were running "Keep going!" I shouted to Rumpel. He didn't want me to go just yet but I shouted to him that as long as he has the locket then I will always be there for him and I will find a way to get back to him. The twister got closer to me and sucked me inside, I was in a panic but then the twister then spit me out and everything went black.

I woke up a few minutes later but only to find myself in a forest but it wasn't the Enchanted Forest that I knew. I looked around for mine brother but he wasn't there 'Where am I?' I thought. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my leg when I tried to stand, my ankle was twisted and was all black and bruised. I could barely walk without limping on my leg "How am I going to find help?" I said to myself. I could barely move more than three inches with a twisted ankle and I was starving.

I had no energy left and slowly passed out "Someone help." I slowly whispered then blacked out. I woke up a few minutes later after hearing the sounds of people chattering. I felt soft hands on my leg which was strange since I did hear anyone looking for me. My eyes fully opened and I could see a kind woman looking over at me "You alright there child?" she asked me. I could barely speak, my throat was very dry "Here this should help." she said as she handed me a glass of water. She had a gentle warm smile as she gave me the drink.

I took a long sip of water and I started to feel much better "What's your name little one?" the women asked me. "Valka Stiltskin. And you are?" I asked her. She said that her name was Fairy Godmother and she was the one who found me in the woods. I thanked her for the help and tried to get up but she stopped me "Your ankle was badly injured and I'm afriad that you have to take it easy." said Fairy Godmother. I just wanted to go back home to my brother and keep him safe.

Fairy Godmother helped me off the bed and lead me to a small house that was her home. Inside was a man in blue robes with a long white beard was using magic like mine "And who is this?" he asked. The man's name was Merlin and he had powerful magic along with Fairy Godmother and her magic wand. I wasn't sure that I could trust them but they did save my life so I'll give them a chance. I told them about my past and my magic "I'm terribly sorry that you lost your parents." said Fairy Godmother.

Fairy Godmother agreed to adopt me as her daughter and even offered a room to stay in as I'm healing. I soon was given something to eat from Merlin and I finished it very quick "I guess you were hungry." joked Merlin. Fairy Godmother even taught me to control my magic but I was having a hard time controlling my emotions. Suddenly, I got so caught up in my fear of never seeing my brother again that I let out a strong blast of magic and it hit Fairy Godmother. I was scared and then I ran to my room.

I sat on my bed, letting my tears roll out of my eyes and drip off of my face 'Why was I gifted this horrible curse?' I thought. I suddenly heard a knock at the door and it was Fairy Godmother "Val, please come out." she begged. "Go away! I don't want to hurt you!" I shouted to her. Fairy Godmother then opened the door and sat beside me while holding me in her arms. She told me that I won't hurt anyone but I refuse to believe it "How can you say that? You're a fairy that is in control of your magic. I'm just a pathetic girl that can't even let go of her horrible past." I said.

"You are not pathetic. You're a smart, brave, kind girl with a special gift. Come now, dry those tears." she whispered to me. I let loose more tears but then I heard Fairy Godmother sing a small lullaby that started to calm me down. 

Fairy Godmother:

I started to calm down when I heard the sounds of her sweet voice and at that moment I felt safer than I was before. This was now a new chapter in my life.
