It's been two years since our father had abandoned me and my brother. I'm now twelve years old and Rumpel is now ten years old. Rumpel took over spinning for me since I was now working in a tavern for most of the day. It was not easy but I manage to do my best. As I was passing out the food I saw three girls that looked like royalty walk in 'Who are they?' I thought. I walked over to them and they were looking at me like I was a statue "Who's this servent girl?" the one in light blue asked cruelly.
"Helga, behave! Sorry about my sister, she's never like this. I'm Ingrid, you've met my sister Helga, and this is our littler sister Iduna." said Ingrid. I introduced myself to them and mange to get them drinks. Turns out I was right, they are royalty to a kingdom called Arendelle and Ingrid was just like me. She had magic too but it was ice powers and not light magic but I didn't mind one bit. Ingrid and her sisters weren't afriad of me and were nice to me "You know, Princess Eva is having a ball for her thirteenth birthday and you are welcome to join us." said Iduna.
I told them that I would go but I didn't have a dress to wear and I don't to be viewed as a tavern girl "Don't worry, Ingrid can help with that." said Helga. Later after my shift, I showed the girls where I live and I was lucky that my brother and the spinners were out at the market. "You ready Valka?" asked Ingrid. I nodded yes then with a wave of her hand, her powers transformed my dress that I was wearing into a gown that was light green with a mask on my face. I looked in the mirror and I was so beautiful "Our sister is magic when it comes to ball gowns." said Iduna.
I have never looked so elegant before in my life "You think I'm ready?" I asked. "There is just one thing missing." said Helga as she placed a crown on my head. Now I was ready for tonight, when the Arendelle sisters left I told Rumpel that I was going out for a bit and will be back soon. Later that night, I met up with Ingrid and her sisters at the docks then we were in a royal carriage that was headed for the castle. When we entered the gates of the palace, the guard had to stop us from getting in since he needed our names.
Ingrid and her sisters gave the guard their names but I had to use a fake name to get in "Princess Lena." I said. They let me walk into the castle and I was filled with amazement "So beautiful." I whispered. The whole ballroom was like a cave of wonders that sparkles like treasure. Ingrid found me and lead me to Princess Eva but she wasn't like any princess I've heard about. When the two of us walked up to her and bowed, she wasn't very pleased "And who are you?" she asked me coldly.
I used my fake name towards her but she didn't by it luckily the music began and everyone was getting ready to start the walza. Helga gave me a few lessons before the ball so I would be prepared. A few princes started to dance with me and no one even knew me until I accidentally bumped into another prince. He was wearing a black suit with a black mask that covered his face but his dark brown eyes "May I have this dance?" he asked as he held out his hand. I took his hand and we started to dance to the melody of the music.
After the dance, we started to talk to each other but then Princess Eva barge into our conversation "Mind if I borrow her for a second?" she said to me. I followed Eva to the window balcony then she pulled my mask off and looked at me as if she knew me but she did. "I thought I recognized you. Valka Stiltskin, the spinner freak and a servant girl. You can wear as many gowns as you want but you will never be one of us. You will always be a servant with a curse." she said with venom in her voice.
She even told me to stay away from her soon to be finance which was the prince that I was talking to. Ingrid saw what was going on and dragged me away from Princess Eva "Thanks." I said to her. "Anytime, I know a thing or two about dealing with Eva and her snobby attitude." Ingrid explained. I saw the same prince I was dancing with and told him that I had to leave "Wait, will I see you again?" he asked. "Maybe someday we will meet again." I said to him then left with Ingrid and her sisters.
