The monsoon season passed away. Brownish leaves flew in the air as the sun beamed brightly.

Ayush climbed the stairs of his house to Samaira's room. He had been hearing a baby's cry for quite a while.Prarthana was with him so he understood that it must be Reyan and decided to check him out.

As he entered the room,he saw Reyan crying loudly and Kevin trying to pacify him.

Ayush could feel his heart melting. He slowly picked up the kid and moved it gently. He had done this a lot of times before Samaira had gone to the other county. He always had a soft corner for Kevin and Reyan.

The baby ended it's cries and looked at him with wide eyes. It smiled at him and he smiled back. The child caught hold of one of his fingers with its right hand and started stroking his stubble with the left.

Ayush smiled and pecked the forehead of the baby. He remembered the first time he held Reyan. The baby was too fragile and tiny that he felt it may fall down if his grip loosens. The same went with Prarthana and she was still the same.

He cradled the baby and he could see Prarthana, whom he had placed on the bed before taking up  Reyan, looking at him with jealous eyes.

He could only laugh at his daughter.

He heard a clicking sound behind him and turned around to see Samaira, coming out of the bathroom. Her wet hair curled down her shoulders.

She looked at him and saw that Reyan was in his arms. A subtle smile bloomed within her lips and she walked forward to him.

"Thank you so much for looking after him. "she said as she tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear.

"He and Kevin are mine as much as they're yours."Ayush responded.

Samaira tried to read his eyes. She couldn't really decipher what were the emotions those brown orbs depicted. Hearing him repeating her words made her think about the influence that night might have made on him.

He continued, "If you can look after my daughter like a mother, I can look after them like a father. Our marriage is going to happen and I had said that it's for Prarthana's sake. But I change my words. It's for the sake of all of us. Especially the kids. Like you fill the void of a mother in Prarthana's life, I promise I will fill the void of a father in Kevin's and Reyan's life. "

Samaira smiled. Things were changing.

........

Samaira was clad in a red saree. An intricate neck piece adorned her neck, adding to her beauty. Her hair was set loose and it had the fragrance of  lily flowers.

Though she wanted to wear a simple churidhar, Mary, Mohini and Nitya insisted her to wear a saree. They decked her up with very little makeup.

She now sat inside a car on the way to a registration office.

Her mind wandered away to the day she got married to Naveen.

"I will be with you forever, Aira
You'll never see tears after we unite. Samaira belongs to Naveen like the sun ultimately sets in the vast ocean waters. "

Her eyes welled up as broken pieces of memories rebuilt themselves in front of her eyes. A pat on her shoulder brought her back from the daze of thoughts.

"We're here Samaira. 'said Mary, her mother.

She nodded slightly and got out of the car. She saw that Ayush was already at the entrance of the office. He was wearing a white shirt and brown pants.

They entered the office and did the necessary procedures. They signed the needed documents and it was time to exchange flower garlands. They had firmly told her family that their marriage will be very simple and no religious rituals will be conducted as they were from different beliefs.Besides,it was just a month after Praniti's demise.

The elderly member were okay with this demand as long as these two were ready to get married.

Ayush's mind filled with Praniti's  memories and their marriage.

"Yayyyyy! I finally became Mrs. Praniti Ayush Verma. I love you more than you'll ever imagine. We'll be together even during the brightest of days and the darkest of nights. "

His eyes teared as he lifted his hands to make Samaira wear the garland. They exchanged the garlands and Ayush could see that Samaira too was fighting back her tears.

Hot liquid began running down his cheeks as they exited the office. Same happened with Samaira.

This didn't go unnoticed by the mothers. They looked at one another and sighed.

Mary and Mohini caught hold of their children and made them stand face to face.

"Both of you have cried enough. It's time to rediscover the colours of life. It's time to move on. We're sure you'll find and cherish love again. You surely will. "said Nithya.

Mohini made Ayush wipe away Samaira's tears and Mary made Samaira do the same.

Ayush and Samaira looked away as the mothers left them.

"It's photo time!"said Ayush's father, who seemed kind of happy.

He made the couple stand together and clicked a picture.

Every end is a new beginning... It's a new beginning for Samaira and Ayush. They'll have to overcome all the hurdles they face.

Just like the lily that blooms beautifuly in a desert where sun shines the most fiercely.Where rains are sparse. Where acres are filled with only and only golden sand.

............

Finally... They're married. I'm in need of comments... Long ones if you can.(Hehehe..I'm greeeedy 😈)
