"Welcome to the Muppet Show, with our very special guest..." Complete and utter darkness. A gasp arose from the crowd. Kermit stayed his usual calm and collected self on the outside, but on the inside he panicked. What on earth could be happening?
Scooter rushed his way over to Kermit. "Kermit! There seems to be a sudden power outage. I'll look into it. For now, you have to tell the audience not to worry." Alright. Sounds easy enough.
"Alright everybody, there has been a power outage. Just sit tight and the show will begin in a moment!" Then, a rattle shook through the building. An earthquake. Chunks of plaster began to fall from the ceiling. Statler and Waldorf made some witty response, but it couldn't be heard over the roar of The theater would collapse any moment. "Oh, dear..."
The ceiling caved in on itself, revealing a sky full of vibrant flashing colors. Beams and lasers of light scanned the crowd. Screams could be heard throughout the theater, well, the remains of it anyways. A thunderous boom left all the Muppets shaking. Boom! Boom! The sound was deafening. Louder and louder, until... silence.
The theater was gone. As in completely disappeared without a trace. The audience? Vanished. Kermit and the gang had appeared to be in a vast forest, and in the distance, a volcano? Kermit couldn't believe his eyes.
"Where... are we?" Gonzo asked, astonishment in his voice. Different clusters of people, animals, and creatures fell from the big, blue sky and landed on the grass with a soft thud. Who were these people? What did they have in common with the Muppets? They all looked so strange, alien even.
"I don't know where we are, Gonzo, but I sure don't like it. We have to stick together. It's what the Muppets do," Kermit said, trying to sound reassuring.
"Kermie, I'm scared! Someone as beautiful as moi should never have to go through something as catastrophic as this!"
Kermit sighed, exasperated. "You'll be fine, Piggie. At least we have each other."
Miss Piggie stomped her feet. "Fine, whatever. Still doesn't make it any better." She sassily turned away from Kermit and walked back to the rest of the group.
Suddenly, someone dropped from the sky and crash-landed right next to the Muppets, faceplanting into the dirt. Fozzie Bear rushed over to investigate. The sound of a very distinct song rattled through Fozzie's fuzzy ears. "Hello? Who are you? I'm Fozzie, and back there are the Muppets, my friends."
The figure slowly stood up and brushed himself off. He wore a vibrant blue sweatshirt and pink slippers. His head was a stark, almost bone colored white... or were they bones? A skeleton!
"Hey. The name's Sans. Sans Undertale. Nice to meet ya," he said. Or, rather, a text box over his head said in a white font on a black background. He made this peculiar sound, like an "urp-urp-urp" sort of noise. Despite being a skeleton, this Sans character seemed to look pretty nice.
"Hello, Mr. Sans! No bones about it, you look like a cool guy! Do you want to be friends?"
"That was a really bad pun.
Sounds like we'd get along nicely."
Excitedly, Fozzie led his new friend back to the group. It seemed like the beginning of a beautiful, lasting friendship... if they could survive long enough.
