Katya's POV
"Hey! Someone stop her! Stop her right now! Grab that girl." I laughed as I ran through campus. I pushed my fellow students with a smile on my face."Excuse me, coming through!" I cut around a corner and walked down a dark hallway. I heard running footsteps behind me. I looked around and ran inside the old auditorium. I shut the doors behind me and ducked down. I heard someone run to the window.
"Hey, let's go this way." After a few seconds, the footsteps disappeared down the hall.
"Ha, another round of detention avoided." I stood up and looked around. "Haven't been in this place in forever." I put my hands in my pockets and glanced around the dim lit room. I walked down the steps and out of nowhere the sound of a piano started. The soft melody pulled me further into the old room. As I made it to the third row from the stage, I saw a blonde girl at the piano. I sat in one of the seats and watched her. She played as if she was one with the piano. I was captivated by her melody. It was soft at parts but escalated to a deeper and harder melody. Her whole body played the piano, not just her fingers. Her eyes were closed but that did not matter. I leaned in closer as I felt a small smile grow on my face. "Wow." She stopped abruptly as she heard me.
"What are you doing in here?"
"I could ask you the same." She looked at me, not speaking. "Sorry, that was rude. Um I was just walking by."
"I doubt that."
"Oh, my bad Nancy Drew. Didn't know that someone would be in here alright?"
"Well, someone is."
"You're very snappy." She sighed and stood up. She walked to a bag in the corner of the stage and pulled out a tiny lunch box. She sat on the edge of the stage and opened the box. She pulled out an orange and started to peel it. She broke the orange in half and looked at me.
"Here." She held it out to me and waited. "You don't like fruit or something?"
"Nah, just I don't take food from strangers."
"Think I'm gonna kill ya?"
"You could."
"Do I actually look like I could kill someone." I looked at the blonde and smiled.
"You're right." I walked to her and took the orange. "Thanks Blondie." I sat next to her on the stage.
"My name is Beatrice, not Blondie."
"Okay, my bad. My name is Katya. Are you a freshman?"
"No, why do you think that?"
"Well, I've never seen you before."
"Oh, well I just transferred here today. I am a sophomore."
"Aw, I'm a junior. I was hoping we could have some classes together."
"Yeah."
"Are you always this quiet?"
"Are you always this talkative?"
"Point taken."
"Uh huh. And yeah I guess I am always this quiet."
"Hmm." Beatrice continued to eat as she looked at some book. "What's that?"
"Oh, just a book of different songs."
"That is cool. But um, there aren't any words on the page."
"Sheet music Katya."
"Ah, okay. Oh, you sounded beautiful when you were playing."
"Thanks."
"What's the name of the piece? I would love to listen to it while I work on my paintings." Beatrice blushed and looked down.
"Um, it was Beethoven's piano sonata No. 14, um Moonlight Sonata, the third movement."
"Woah, that's gonna be a lot to remember. Hey, give me your phone."
"What? Why?"
"Just gimme." Beatrice handed me the phone slowly. I went to her contact list and added my number. I smiled and held up her phone to take a quick selfie. I gave her the phone back with a smile. "There you go, now you can just text it to me so I won't forget."
"Oh, I could have written it down for you." I chuckled and put another piece of the orange in my mouth.
"I misplace my homework, and that is supposed to be really important. I would either misplace that paper or forget what it is for." Beatrice looked at me with a raised eyebrow as she took a sip of her chocolate milk. "You're kinda adorable you know." Beatrice coughed, choking on her milk. I covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing.
"Huh?"
"I said you are kinda adorable." Beatrice looked at me then looked away. I finally took a moment to get a good look at her. She was actually beautiful. Her hair was neatly pulled into two buns and her eyes were a hazel color that shimmered when the light hit them the right way. Her cheeks had a light pink hue to them and her skin looked like porcelain. Beatrice stood up and my eyes followed her. I hadn't paid much attention the first time, but her body looked amazing in the uniform. The skirt that stopped itches above her knees, the shirt that pulled over her chest and the tie on her neck, it all added to her in some way. I turned away as my mind went a little too far.
"Thank you."
"Huh?"
"I said thank you."
"Oh, um for what?"
"Sitting with me while I ate my lunch." I stood up and rubbed my head.
"Heh, no problem."
"You know, I just noticed something."
"And that is?"
"You're wearing the guy school uniform."
"Yeah, skirts just aren't my things. Never have, never will be." Beatrice shrugged her shoulders, nonchalantly.
"To each their own. I gotta get to my next class though." Beatrice jumped off of the stage and walked towards the door.
"Wait, Beatrice!" I jumped down and ran after her.
"Huh?"
"Um, well would you wanna hang in here again tomorrow?" She looked at me for a second then a small smile appeared.
"Sure."
"Okay, heh cool. Well I'll see ya around."
"Yeah, and Katya?"
"Yeah?"
"Trixie."
"Huh?"
"Call me Trixie." I smiled and nodded my head. Trixie walked out of the room, and the only thing I could do was watch her.
