Trixie's POV
I went through the rest of my day in a daze, not really paying attention to anyone or anything. I was too busy thinking about Katya's question to even pretend to be interested in any of my classes. I was going to her house after school today so I had to give her an answer, or it would be weird. Her question came out of no fucking where and it caught me off guard. Even though I was still confused about her asking me, I was faltered that she asked. Katya was hot, no matter how much of a bitch I was, I wasn't blind. It made me feel kind of weird that she asked. I wasn't the prettiest girl, so pretty people didn't ask me out. My train of thought made it's way to the events of last year. The things that happen in the janitor closet with my boyfriend of almost a year. The things that made my mom decide we needed to move, the things that disappointed my mother.
After the bell rang for the last class, I walked straight to my locker. I chuckled as I saw Katya walking towards me. She was dragging her backpack on the ground and she was doing the same thing with her feet. "What's wrong with you?" Katya leaned her head on my back as she dropped her bag fully.
"School sucks ass."
"I'm sorry to hear that." I rubbed Katya's head as I laughed. "You ready to leave?"
"Can we please?"
"Yeah, I have everything I need so let's go." Katya wrapped her arms around me as we walked out the school. I could feel a slight blush creeping up onto my cheeks. I tried my hardest to keep a straight face as we walked. Katya was walking behind me as her hands held onto my waist.
"So?"
"What?"
"Have you thought about it?"
"I guess you do need an answer."
"Sorta."
"Well, I have a question first."
"Okay, shoot."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do you want to go out with me?
"Why not?"
"Katya, we aren't exactly on the same level."
"What do you mean?"
"Katya, you're hot and well I'm not." Katya let me go and walked in front of me. She grabbed me softly by my arm as she stared into my eyes.
"Trixie, first of all that isn't true. I had to stop myself from drooling over you yesterday and second why does that matter? I didn't think I had to have a reason to want to date you but I think you are pretty cool plus you're smart. And even though you try to be all hard, I know you are nothing but a sweetheart."
"I'm sorry Katya, I just have issues when people say they want to date me. I don't see myself as someone that people would want to date."
"May I ask why?"
"Can we talk about it when we get to your house?"
"Sure thing."
"Okay, thanks." Katya smiled as she grabbed my waist again. Katya made it so hard to think straight, especially when she touched me.
As soon as Katya and I walked into the gate of her home, three young boys ran pass us with a dog. Katya pulled me out of the way to avoid getting knocked over. "Wouldn't want you to flash everyone in that short skirt of yours."
"Shut up Katya. Who were those kids anyway?"
"Oh, well that was my younger brother and his friends. They are so annoying, I have no idea how he is friends with them."
"They're probably just annoying to you because you're a big sister."
"Ugh, just come inside." Katya put her bag beside the door and kicked off her shoes. "Mom, I'm home!" Katya walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge. "Do you want anything?"
"No, I'm okay. Can I go change?"
"Sure thing. You remember where my room is right?"
"Yes." I walked up the stairs to Katya's room. I closed the door behind me and walked to the bed. I decided to wear a simple skirt and sweater today. Both were a pastel color. The skirt a pastel pink and the sweater, a pastel yellow. Pastel and bitchy was my way of life. After changing, I walked out of Katya's room.
"Oh hello Trixie dear." I turned around to see Katya's mom, carrying a basket of laundry.
"Hello."
"How are you today?"
"I'm good, thank you. How are you?
"I'm well. It is nice to see you."
"You too." I walked back downstairs and looked around for Katya. "Katya? Katya, where are you?" I saw that the front door was slightly open so I decided to check outside. Katya was standing in the middle of the driveway with her little brother trapped in between her legs, pulling his arm.
"Where is it you little punk? Tell me right now, I know you fucking had it." Katya's little brother was screaming his head off. I sighed as I walked to Katya. I pulled her away from her brother and held her.
"What is the problem Katya?"
"He went in my fucking room and took my bear."
"I did not."
"Stop lying you little maggot."
"Katya, calm down. It's just a bear."
"It's not Trixie. It is the bear you made for me. It is important..because..ugh whatever." Katya pushed me off of her and stormed back inside the house. Katya's brother was still on the ground crying his eyes out. I tapped his head and smiled.
"Excuse me." He lifted his head and looked in my eyes. I could tell he was Katya's brother, their eyes were exactly the same. "Hiya, what's your name?"
"Sam."
"Hi Sam, I'm Trixie."
"Hi." I sat next to Sam on the ground and sighed.
"Sam, are those boys your best friends?"
"Uh huh."
"What are their names?"
"The one with the glasses is Richie and the other one is Tommy."
"Okay well, say that one of them gave you something that they made just for you. You loved it so much because it was special, and someone took that. How would you feel?"
"I would be mad."
"Why?"
"Because my best friend gave it to me."
"You are so smart Sam. But, that is how Katya feels about her bear. I made that bear just for her Sam, it is super special to her."
"I'm sorry, I just thought it looked cool."
"Do you want a bear too Sam?" The little boy nodded his head as he sniffled. "Okay, well if you give me the bear back, I'll make sure to get you a bear."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Okay!" Sam jumped up and grabbed my hand.
"Where are we going?"
"To get the bear." I smiled as I let Sam lead me to his tree house. I could get used to all of this, I kind of wanted to.
