Katya's POV
After Trixie left, I went straight to my room. I sat on my bed and just stared at the bag that my bear was it. Yeah ok, teddy bears are for kids but this was different. Trixie made this bear for me and I really wanted to see it. I hung upside down on my bed and threw a ball up in the air while I waited. I sat up when I felt my phone vibrate under me, it was a face time call from Trixie. I looked at myself in my mirror and fixed my hair. After taking a deep breathe, I answered the call. "It took you long enough to answer."

"Well hello to you too." Trixie had the camera facing her pink ceiling and I could hear her moving around. Of course her room was pink. After a few more seconds, Trixie moved her phone to face her. Trixie was fucking beautiful, even more now than she was before somehow. I couldn't help but stare at her. Her blonde hair sat upon her shoulders and her face bare of makeup. I could see every freckle on her face and a slight rosiness in her baby face.

"Katya."

"Huh?"

"Stop staring at me."

"Do I have to?" Trixie rolled her eyes and picked up the bag that held her bear. "Oh, opening time?"

"Just get your bag, weirdo." I smiled as I grabbed my bag. "Okay on the count of three. One...two..."

"Three!" I pulled the bear out of the bag and gasped as I looked at it. The bear was dressed in all black and I was already in love with it. I looked at Trixie as she stared at her bear. "Hey squeeze it." Trixie looked at me for a split second before squeezing the bear close to her chest.

"You should smile more cutie, it shines brighter than the sun."  I smiled as my voice played from the white bear. Trixie shook her head as she smiled a little.

"See, you should listen to that bear."

"Oh shut up and squeeze yours."

"Ooh, I get a special message too?"

"Shut up." I chuckled and squeezed the black bear.

"I'm glad you are my new friend, I had an awesome time." I smiled at the bear then at Trixie. The pinkness of Trixie's cheeks were much brighter now.

"You're just the cutest."

"Shut up Katya."

"That should be what you recorded. I really like it though, thank you Trixie."

"I'm glad you do, and thank you for mine. I will keep it on my bed."

"Awe, I'm that special."

"No, the bear is."

"You're so mean to me Trix, just ripping my heart out mama."

"Oh blah blah blah." Trixie looked down at the bear and ran her fingers over the pink bow on it's head. She had a soft way about her even if she didn't want anyone to know.

"Hey Trix?"

"Hmm?" Trixie lifted her head to look at me.

"You're cute, you know that right?"

"And you're weird, you know that right?"

"You refuse to be sweet to me don't you?"

"It will come someday, well maybe."

"Oohh, I'm looking forward to it."

"I bet you are, but I really did have fun today. I can be nice enough to say that."

"I'm glad you did, kinda was my goal."

"That is one hell of a goal."

"I'm one hell of a person." Trixie chuckled as she looked at me.

"You really are."

"Trixie?"

"Yes?"

"Will you play the piano for me tomorrow?"

"Oh um, I don't play for people anymore."

"You played today in school."

"Because I was alone, well I thought I was."

"Well, what do you mean anymore?" Trixie sighed as she crawled off of the bed. I heard her open a door and I could only hope I didn't upset her. Trixie turned her phone to face her closet. Her closet was full of medals, ribbons, and trophies.

"My father wanted me to be the next big thing and I was for a while. A child prodigy is what he wanted and well, that's what he got. From the age of 4 to the age of 14. We traveled everywhere for my musical recitals and competitions. I have been out of the states more than anyone my age it seems. The year I was supposed to go to Japan, was the year my father's heart attack. He had been in a wheel chair ever since I was 2. Him and I didn't play outside or anything before he was in the wheel chair and we sure didn't play after. All he did was sit in his music room and sulk. Like father like daughter I guess." I could hear sadness and pain cling to Trixie's words.

"What about your older sister?

"She lived with her mother when she was younger. She didn't come to live with us until I was 11, and well the child prodigy shit had already started."

"Why didn't your mom say anything?"

"My mom was always busy, spent most of her time away from home."

"But didn't you enjoy playing music and the competitions?"

"No..my father took the joy out of that. I froze up at one of my recitals and he lost his shit. I had never messed up before, even when I was playing for fun. But I froze, in front of thousands of people at that. I was about 13. I spent that whole year playing. I  was homeschooled so I could have more time with the piano. On my 14th birthday, I played the piano. Thanksgiving and Christmas, I spent playing the piano. That's all my life was, the piano. But while we were getting ready to leave for Japan, my dad fell out of his chair. He died three days later."

"Trixie, I'm so sorry."

"I hadn't played a piano in almost two years." Trixie looked down and wiped her face. I knew she was crying and I wanted to kick myself for even asking her.

"You sounded beautiful Trixie, just know that. I think you should get some sleep though, we have school tomorrow."

"Yeah, you're right"

"I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

"Okay."

"Goodnight Trixie."

"Night Katya." I ended the call and covered my face with a pillow as I took a deep breathe. I moved the pillow and sat up, looking at my phone. I decided to type a quick message to Trixie before bed.

Me: I'm really sorry Trixie, I didn't know. But I'm here for you and if you ever decide to play again, I will sit and listen. I hope you sleep well and I can't wait until I get to annoy you again❤

I put my phone on my bedside table and sunk into my bed. Fuck..just fuck.
