The birds were chirping, the flowers were opening, the sun was peeping through the tree. The pleasant air blew and filled my nostrils with the fragrance of fresh morning. The sun was spreading its light all over, which was fading the darkness of night. That morning, the sun was so yellow and shining as if was trying to say something. As if it was wishing me for the new beginning as if it was saying, that “night had gone and taken away it's darkness with itself, and I am here with all my energy and light to give you, get up and start your new and exciting journey”.
The sunlight kissed my face. I was sitting at the corridor of the house with my journals trying to pen down something great and refreshing. The wish to become a writer has always excited me but I knew that fulfill that dream is not that simple. I have to look, my family first. But whatever the situation I carried on my writing every day, I could not let that money power to win over me, my thoughts and my emotions. Yeah, I knew, that time is not good for us but somewhere I also knew that time changes, good time comes and it will definitely come for me, I just have to work hard. I don't know why but that keep going spirit never leaves me. That morning brought lots of positive energy with it, it was full of hope. Kolkata was welcoming me with all open arms and heart. I was enjoying that lovely morning, there was stillness, a mesmerizing aroma, there was an inaudible sound which I could hear. I was enjoying my moment when I heard a sound of glass breaking, I got up and went to look for it when I saw pieces of glass were scattered all over the surface of veranda and at the end of the veranda, Krish was staring at me with a scared face. ‘Please do not tell Mumma, she will punish me for this’.
No! Don't worry, I will not tell her. He was already so scared I did not wanted to afraid him more, so without wasting any time I collected all the pieces and threw it into the dustbin. It was 8:30 in the morning, and we were having breakfast. Dad and Mukesh uncle was ready for their office. It was the first day for dad in Kolkata but he seems to be ok that's what I love about my dad he never gets impatient he always knows what he is doing. Mom and Veena Auntie was arranging the breakfast. Neil was busy with his phone. Me and kavya were ready to visit the college. Krish was sitting in front of me and he was still looking tensed about morning but I gave him a smile and asked him to relax.
So! Ready for the day? Kavya interrogated
Yeah! I m excited and gave her a smile
Let's go then and hope for the best. May we get the admission today, she said this with nervous but happy smile. We were at the Goenka college. The college has a big campus with big buildings and ground. I was actually confused about the fees structure of college.
‘It doesn't seem that I will get admission here, I said to kavya.
But why? What's the problem? Kavya who was so excited seeing that campus asked me with a worried face.
Money! Money is the problem. I can't afford such a big campus.
But why are you so negative? Kavya asked me with an annoying face.
‘I am not being negative, I know what is in my budget or not’.
Do not think these shits here! First, let's go and check at least what's the fees and all. Don't be sad now, what if it gets fit in your budget. You are a book reader! Right?
Yes!
So, do you judge your book by its cover? Or you first read and then decide what's good or bad in that book?
Yeah, of course, I read it first, whether it has bad cover or good.
‘Then that's it so why are you judging this college by just looking it from outside. What if it will have good courses and atmosphere at low expense.’
I had to listen to her, she had a point. We just can't predict something first we have to know the thing.
I agreed. And we were at the administration office talking to a staff.
Sir, How is the MBA course here? Kavya asked the staff.
’It's good here, teachers are good even they have placement cell here which is good enough’. Staff replied with a proud look.
Oh! And what about the expense? Kavya asked him raising her eyebrows.
Oh! That's quite reasonable. It's not that high.
Staff replied all our questions with patience and smile.
After getting all the information, we went to get the forms, we completed all the process and finally after a lot of struggle we got the admission.
Alas, it was a herculean task. I said, to kavya.
We were at the canteen next to the college and it was 4:00 in the evening, we haven't ate anything. We had breakfast only. We both were literally exhausted, running from one building to another our leg was burning.
I am done up man! I think I won't be able to keep even one step, Ufff! Kavya stretched her hands.
We had a burger and coffee there. It was a tough day but somewhere I was feeling good as I sowed the seeds for my coming days. Now college was done and now I needed the job.
Happy reading 🌼🌼
